What are Herokins?
Herokins are little super-heroes that need your help. These super-heroes need the parents and children to work together in order to fight the villains of Synapse City. Through fun missions and little stories, children will learn important life lessons and explore the world.
How did you develop this?
In order to create the best user experience and refine this method of modern gameplay we’ve been working with advisors and institutions such as UC Berkeley.
Is Synapse City real?
As real as you make it. Don’t forget, all your real life actions can influence the life in Synapse City.
This is based on a story?
Yes, in fact there are many stories to be told about the adventures in Synapse City.
How can I access these stories?
The stories can be accessed through a free mobile app that works on iOS (iPhone 4S and later) and Android (4.3+) devices.
Do Herokins work without a phone?
To experience the full power of storytelling, Herokins need to interact with a phone.
What kind of phone do I need to connect to my Herokin?
To fully experience the Herokins story you need a smart-phone that supports Bluetooth 4.0.
Will there be Blackberry or Windows Mobile support?
Herokins currently offers official support for iOS and Android. Our engineers are working to create a home for your Herokin on additional platforms.
Does the application for iOS or Android cost anything?
Absolutely not! It is completely free and will always remain that way. We might add a premium feature in the future that includes even more adventures through in-App purchases.
Why is there a $15 international shipping fee?
The fee reflects current costs for your Herokin to reliably travel to you in most regions around the world. For certain regions, we may have to pack your Herokins an additional trail food package and will offer expedited shipping for a small additional fee after the campaign closes.
For children in what age group are Herokins?
We believe in the inner child of everyone. The adventures you and your Herokin have to deal with are designed for children age 3 to 6 and their parents. Our beta testing included children age 7 to 8 and they had a lot of fun as well.
Are the materials safe for children?
Herokins and their wrist-straps are made out of the highest grade skin-safe material and are tested under the most stringent compliance methods.
Are there any other costs involved?
Other than our villains General Grey and the Clone Brigade Herokins are fair and transparent creatures. Your Herokin comes free of additional financial commitments.
Can I have my Herokins shipped to different addresses?
No, once we receive your order your group of Herokins will be super excited to travel together. All Herokins for your backing will be traveling to a single address which we’ll collect at the end of the campaign.
Do I maintain my “place in line” if I move my pledge between rewards?
Yes! However you remix your original pledge we’ll preserve the initial timestamp. Within any individual reward level, "first in line" are backers who have the earliest pledge timestamps.
What’s the battery situation?
Herokins are very energetic creatures. Each Herokin comes with a rechargeable battery that can be reloaded through a mini-USB port.
Does a Herokin come with a warranty?
The warranty is one year.
