About the Film

'Hola Venky!' is an experimental indie comedy with Indian-Mexican flavor, exclusively shot in San Francisco and Mumbai with a 4-member crew and marginal budget. It tells the story of an Indian Techie's journey from his groin to his heart.

This is the second directorial venture by Sandeep Mohan after the critically acclaimed 'Love, Wrinkle-free' that got recently released in US, Canada and Australia after it's theatrical run in India last year (Watch the trailer). You can find more about LWF news and updates here. 

Sandeep has teamed up with Giju John, the producer for his debut film, with the ambitious goal of making a quality film within a budget of USD 20,000.! Yes, you read that right, within $20,000. "We are confidently marching towards that goal with great support from lots of well wishers and supporters" - says Giju. This confidence is justifiably based on the experience that both Sandeep and Giju have gained from the production of 'Love, Wrinkle-free', which was a low budget film (under $300,000) that was done within the stipulated budget due to extensive planning coupled with timely execution. With 'Hola Venky!', they are taking this approach to a totally different level. "Crazy ambitious? - may be, realistic - absolutely..!", adds Sandeep.  

The shoot for Hola Venky! was completed in a tightly scheduled 24 days featuring seasoned actors for the lead roles while utilizing a majority of non-actors for the supporting role. This, along with sourcing local locations and private resources, was the key in keeping the production cost within control.
