1st HOMELESS ASHES TRAILER
Previous Intro Marc Zammit Interviews people who are homeless.
Homeless Ashes is a passion project that was created by Marc Zammit. Marc Zammit was raised on a council estate in London, had a passion for the arts and has wanted to be an actor from when he was just 6 years old. Marc started acting from the age of 12 and has now been acting for 17 years, growing his knowledge and skills. He had always wanted to make a film but wanted to make a film with meaning. He decided to make a film that will help give back to the community! Marc is a massive fan of classic films and wanted to bring this into Homeless Ashes. He spent 3 years developing the film, studying films, lighting, sound, filmmaking, editing and directing. Over the past 3 years Marc went through over 14 drafts of the script with George Wilcox the writer, had meetings with investors, but Marc felt like a dog chasing his tail. The same reason came up every time, it was going to be a risk investing in this film because it would not be easy to sell, Marc was being told he should make a film that would be easy to sell first, but refused and said no! He went down the crowdfunding route to make his debut feature himself, and has created a big family through the crowdfunding to make this film happen! So far we have raised £58,000 and we have filmed almost half the film, however, we need more funds to complete it!

This Film is important to us because the film will be raising awareness of Homelessness, spreading awareness and giving the homeless a voice. Film is seen all over the world by all kinds of people, we hope this film will touch people in their own way and maybe someone who watches this film will volunteer at a Homeless shelter in their free time, someone might offer a help in hand to a person who is homeless, or donate/subscribe to local homeless charity, or even donate cloths, food, accessories, to a homeless charity or even say hello, good morning, good evening to a homeless person and not walking passed as if they are not there or family members or friends of a Homeless person, will try and connect and help after watching this film, and most important of all not judge or treat homeless people with disrespect and have a clear understanding that not everyone chooses to be homeless. The majority of people are two paycheques away from being homeless. It has become a more important issue to us as homelessness is on the increase and in the space of just one year! There have been terrible hurricanes that have left many homeless from Harvey and Irma, in July a block of flats in London called Grenfell Tower was on fire and not only did many lose their lives but also some lost their homes. Hopefully, this film can be a voice through film and art, and maybe educate more on homelessness.
We need to raise £12,300 and if we raise £12,300 this could help us complete the film! we have already raised £58,000 and this has helped us almost complete the film, we are filming new scenes by the end of this year. but there is still a lot of work to do! We will not give up! In this campaign, you get to see what we have done with the previous money we raised, and our progression so far. It has started to get exciting seeing it come to life, so check it out, from behind the scenes stills and videos, to some screen stills of the film to check out the cinematography, meeting some of the actors! And much much more!
Our Director Of Cinematography Richard Oakes Richard Oakes has worked with Marc Zammit and Aptitude films various times, a lot of people say that Marc and Richard are a force to be reckoned with.
HOW MUCH WE NEED We need £12,300 to complete the film, we raised £58,000 before, and this has allowed us to complete 95% of the film.
Where else does the money go, The money goes towards a large variety of things, but here is to name a few.
-Pay Cast and Crew -Locations -Expenses, flights for some of the cast to travel from America, accommodation, petrol, food, refreshments etc. -We have a Generator when we are in locations that do not have power, so we have to top it up regularly with oil and petrol. -Props, costumes and make up -Licences, location fees, private hire and parking -We are shooting on 4k and every shoot takes up around 500GB so we have to have a large number of hard drives to put the footage on and back the footage up! -Equipment Hire -Editing -Public Liability Sometimes the smallest things you don't think about like gaffer tape, new light bulbs for the lights because the bulbs have gone, batteries etc.

Where will the funds go if we do not reach our target IMPORTANT information? We raised almost £58,000 previously, we did not reach the full amount we needed but we don't want to talk about what we will do with the money if we don't make our target we want to show you what we have been up to with that money! and we have filmed half the film!
The Impact
As a Contributor, you are also making this film as much as we are! so being a contributor to this film means you are part of this amazing journey of making a film on homelessness that will shine a light on the subject through film, and you are part of the Homeless Ashes family.
Risks & Challenges
There has been so many challenges making this film! We have done 6 crowdfunding campaigns for it, we didn't reach our full target as it was such a large amount of funding, but we raised around £58,000 so we managed to play around with that and filmed what we could! We won't give up until we have completed. The filming has started and there is no stopping now!
We try to be prepared as much as we can, we had many issues but we work around them as much as we can and stick together as a team!
