We faced our fears, we shaved our beards, and we even ran naked - all to raise money to make a hilarious comedy! And now we’re back to reach our final stretch goal of $135,000!
Original campaign video is below:
Why are we back InDemand???
We shot the film in November, but as you can imagine every little bit helps in the world of indie filmmaking. And as we head towards the finishing line of post-production we need to additional funds to help us secure a damn fine soundtrack for the film while at the same time amping up our film festival and initial marketing budget. We want to make sure that this film that you’ve all helped to get made gets out into the world loud and proud! As you can see by the press and coverage below we’ve already got some buzz going through our initial campaign, including The Crowd Life’s crowd funding campaign of the year and write ups in publications from Variety to the Hollywood Reporter:
***We got a lovely little mention in both the print and online version of VARIETY.
Check it out here.
***Check out the KickCast podcast here which gives our campaign a big thumbs up. We kick in around the 25 minute mark
***We've been named Crowd Funding Campaign of the Week by the Toronto Film Scene
***Our casting announcement in the Hollywood Reporter and Playback!
***An article by writer/director Jeremy LaLonde in the Huffington Post on why he thinks crowd funding is here to stay!
Jonas Chernick recently skyped with writer/director Jeremy LaLonde about his fears of making the film:
We said it you helped us hit our initial goal by Sept 2nd, we'd face our fears. You did - and we did. Check out the video evidence below:
Writer/Director Jeremy LaLonde and actress Lauren Lee Smith discuss her sex scenes in the film:
We said that if you got us to 50% by Aug 14th that writer/director Jeremy LaLonde would let his kids shave his beard of ten years. You did and he did! Video evidence below:
See Ennis Esmer & Tommie-Amber Pirie hit the streets of Toronto to promote the growing trend of Small Town Orgies:

HOW TO PLAN AN ORGY IN A SMALL TOWN is a comedy feature film about accepting that it’s okay to be who you are and not worry what others think about you amidst the hilarity of watching friends and neighbours bumble through the most awkward situations possible. It’s a comedy with a great big hard-on. … Er, I meant heart.
My name is Jeremy LaLonde, and I’m here because my last film SEX AFTER KIDS was almost entirely funded through IndieGoGo (the trailer for the film is embedded below). That film screened at almost a dozen film festivals, winning awards and packing theatres - including five sold-out screenings at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. It’s been released around the world and was nominated for 7 Canadian Comedy Awards, winning both Best Screenplay and Best Direction. All of that happened because people like you supported someone like me. And it’s the reason I’m in a position to make my next film, and that’s why I’m back here.
The most positive thing that came out of my last campaign wasn’t the funding (though it was crucial), it was the people. And so we want to give you the opportunity to come along for a crazy ride with us and become an important part of this film. We can’t do it without you, and we wouldn’t want to.

We need to hit our final goal of $135,000 to help us with our costs in finishing the film - mostly to allow us to have a kick-ass soundtrack for the film - but also the additional funds will help towards film festival costs and our initial marketing push once we go to release the film. We want you with us from the ground floor up all the way to the finish line - whether it’s just getting our exclusive updates, a copy of the film, or one of our awesome perk packages, we want our audience to be our partners on the film.
Even if you can’t contribute financially your support means everything. Spreading the word is every much as important as contributing itself!

As you can see by clicking on my own personal profile below, I’m a crowd funding enthusiast. Having personally backed dozens of campaigns on various platforms I truly believe in the power of artists being able to directly connect with their audience. Not a day goes by that I don’t interact with someone who contributed to my previous campaign and it means the world to me that they believe in the work that I do, and that it’s held some meaning for them. That’s what drives me personally as a filmmaker - connecting with others, and there’s fewer better ways to do it than through places like IndieGoGo. Because of you, this film will happen and it’s success will be your success. Because of it’s humble beginnings on IndieGoGo my last film SEX AFTER KIDS is now being distributed in almost a dozen countries (with more coming) and has had a very successful theatrical and VOD release in North America. None of that would have been possible without our backers, and the same will be true for this film.

As we mentioned above - money is great - but we want your support whether you can contribute financially or not. Please get the word out about our campaign. Share our videos and check back for all our updates, of which there will be many! And with our awesome referral program you can help us help you!
Use IndieGoGo’s share tools and help us make some noise.
Welcome to our orgy - we hope you have a blast!

If I contribute, when can I redeem my perks?
We will be shooting the film this fall and finishing it by the spring in anticipating of starting our festival season in Fall of 2015. If all goes to plan we will be releasing the film to the public in the spring/summer of 2016 and will be sending DVDs and the bulk of our perks at this time. To make sure that as much of your contributions can go towards making the film as possible, we want to minimize the amount of shipping. Digital perks will be released as soon as they are ready! This seems like a long time, we realize, but this is fairly standard in terms of the length of time it takes from production to release - we appreciate your patience!
What if I don’t want a perk, I just want to contribute?
You’re an amazing and self-less person! This is no problem, there is a button that you can select if you don’t want a perk.
I contributed and forgot to include the shipping cost! What can I do?
No problem! Click on the 'contribute now' button and add the additional amount and select 'no perk'. Thanks for catching that!
Can I increase my pledge once it’s been made?
YES! Once you donate to our campaign, you may want to change your incentive perk to a different one, or increase your pledge amount to upgrade. Go for it! Send us a quick note letting us know what you’d like to do and we’ll take care of it on our end. This happened quite a bit with our SEX AFTER KIDS campaign and it’s not a problem at all!
What is a “limited availability” perk?
This is a perk that we can only offer in limited quantities, so once they are gone, they’re gone! In instances where your pledge level includes “all of the above” from previous reward levels, these will NOT include limited perks. If you need clarification don’t be shy in checking in with us!
Can I gift an incentive?
YES! That’s very awesome of you. If you would like to donate to the film but give the perk to someone as a gift, go through the normal process of making a donation in your name. For billing purposes, this action must be in your name. After our deadline, we will send a message to you through IndieGoGo to the email address you provided. We will request your address from you at that time. Please reply with the information of the person who should receive the perk, and we will make sure it gets to them.
What region will the DVDs be?
Region free! Play it anywhere.
How can we contact you?
Glad you asked! You can touch base with us through this page, or any of the contact spots below (Facebook, Twitter, etc…) Hit us up with any thought or question you might have - we’re here for you! You can also e-mail us at howtoplananorgy@gmail.com
