Hoping to become one of America’s most notorious serial killers, 23-year-old Hunter Steven Albright hires a camera crew to document his first murder. From a young age, Hunter knew he wanted his name to be known over the world. Since he cannot act, dance, sing, or possess any of the traditional talents it takes to become famous, he chooses a more unconventional route: murder. His documentary film crew follows his efforts by recording his day to day life, interviewing his family and even filming him his murder supply haul. As he finally starts to get his hands dirty, he discovers that being a serial killer is much harder than it seems.

All donations will go towards producing the film. Our biggest and only reward is the film itself! Our film takes place in various locations. Hence, half of the donations will go towards location scouting and booking sites. A quarter of the budget will be allocated to transportation, including accommodating actors and crew, and renting cars. The majority of funds will go towards equipment maintenance (as we have our own professional equipment) and props/scene building in order to make sure we deliver a high quality short film worthy of your viewing. The rest will help feed the crew in order to fuel our well-known pseudo-robotic Cal student work ethic.

We are creating a film that challenges current social paradigms with a quirky and satirical approach. HFH is a passion project and involves taking a deeper look at disgruntled teens -- a topic that is more relevant than ever in our current climate. Through comedy, we hope to present a new perspective on our culture’s obsession with fame. 

Creating a short film is always a challenge in itself. Fortunately, our crew members are trained and experienced filmmakers, and have the confidence to push through to create this one as well. As members of Delta Kappa Alpha, a National Professional Co-Ed Filmmaking Fraternity, we dedicate what little free time we have as students to cultivating our craft. Not only have we produced short narrative films, but we also have commercial experience working for clients such as local startups (Cafe X, AppOrbit), UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business, and on campus student organizations. 

As student filmmakers, one of our greatest challenges is gathering the funding that is necessary to bring our film to life. While we are able to access limited assistance from the university, our film department's resources are greatly limited. In order to overcome these hurdles, we have to look elsewhere and be resourceful to create our projects. Members of the crew have already contributed as much of our own wages as possible to our project through semesterly dues. We are so close to being able to deliver our vision and our past experiences have definitely taught us to make the most out of what we are given: we promise that every dollar will have a direct impact on the art we are trying to create.
