Our Story So Far
Ignight Dance Fitness can be described in one word: Passion. We have unbridled passion for community, exercise, dance, love, joy, inspiration and acceptance.
In
the beginning, we had a dream to share the hottest dance fitness
classes with all people: small and large, old and young, gay and straight--everyone is welcome.
We achieved this
dream with our incredible community: our fantastic instructors, our
attentive and caring front desk staff, and all of you--our awesome
supporters!

The Next Chapter
We're very grateful for Ignight's success, but it's time to take this concept to the next level with:
- A larger space with plenty of PARKING!
- An extended schedule. No more classes only after 5pm--we are going to be open and running classes all day long!
- More formats: 6am Rise & Grind class, XXX Step, Kickboxing and kids classes. We are creating
our new schedule based on your feedback and desires. This means more hot
instructors and the RETURN of a few of your favs!
- Childcare. Our childcare professionals will have experience with
children of various ages, strong references, infant and child CPR, and
first-aid certification. Also, we will require a background check before
employment.
- More workshops: Dance Instructor Academy 1 & Dance Instructor
Academy II, Technique Basics, Intro to Zumba, Intro to FierceFunk,
TwerkShop, and more in the works!
We Need Your Help!
We've found our new home, but we need
funds to build out the space to be PERFECT for you. We've heard your
thoughts on flooring & childcare, as well as your desire for a
shower and changing rooms. Please help us make this a reality!

The new studio is a 4000 sq ft shell. Here are some key components of
our build-out list and where your contributions will be vital to our
success:
- 3500 sq feet of Dura dance floors
- Huge, new stage
- Shower build-out
- New front desk
- Childcare area + toys and entertainment equipment
- Extra speaker + subwoofer
- New dividing wall between bathrooms, showers, changing rooms and main studio
- Ignight's signature blacklights
- Workshop space in the back with mirrors
We are extremely

Lease
We are right in the middle of signing a lease, as you can imagine,
there are lots of details and scenarios to imagine. We have an amazing
new landlord and are very optimistic that the process will go smoothly.
Permits
We need an occupancy permit. Shouldn't be a problem, but we are good
friends with Murphy's Law. Good thing we've got friends in the
permitting office, too!
Zoning
Good news!! Our new studio falls in Fairfax county (JUST barely).
This means we are good to go with zoning. We are considered "by right"
allowed to operate a dance studio in the space. We have to get this
confirmed, but we feel comfortable this is a fairly easy check-box.
Construction snafus
Hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, and floods any act of God could
halt or delay our plans. Thankfully, we've got an amazing contractor AND
our new landlord is also a contractor who can complete our build-out as
a plan B without affecting our launch plans.
