Short Summary
As I get older, I seem to run into the same basic issue through each experience had and conversation shared. The need for perfection or the illusion of "having it all together" is palpable. When did it become common practice to be ashamed of our genuine selves?
Imperfect is a documentary film attempting to squash the negative connotation this word sadly carries and to celebrate the individuality of each person owning who they uniquely and inherently are at the core.
As a budding filmmaker, I am struggling myself with the idea of imperfection -- not being exactly at the level I want to be yet. This, in conjunction with lack of finances, leads to my inability to create impacting films such as this documentary on an issue that I feel so desperately needs to be brought out of the darkness.
This is my request to collaborate with others to bring my first personal piece to life. This is a message that I feel all people, of all ages need to hear and recognize. Will you join me in making this possible?

What We Need & What You Get
Breakin' it down:
- I will need equipment and a passionate crew to make this dream a reality.
- ALL funds will go straight into production costs, even if we don't reach our target -- I will personally make sure this film is made one way or another.
- Production costs also include your perks -- yay! I am excited and humbled by each of you and these perks are the least I can do to thank each one of you for your support and encouragement!

The Impact
Perfectionism is debilitating. It can take away sleep, self-worth, relationships, jobs -- whole lives. I want to bring the beauty of imperfection to light; to bring the simple, amazing stories of ordinary people to a much larger audience and show that each life is beautiful and an inspiration, by just being real, honest and imperfect.
This short film will showcase an artistic interpretation of imperfection through collective interviews of people telling their real life stories. This piece will ultimately show that all life is asking of us is to simply live it with authenticity.

Risks & Challenges
The risk and greatest challenge that I believe all filmmakers run into is the lack of funds to create a project with meaning. I see a demand that is not being met for sincerity and vulnerability. We all want, crave, need that. I want to be the one to fill this void. However, finances tend to be a real-life stumbling block and, if I'm being totally honest, a real buzz-kill.
We need to rent the right equipment, pay and feed our crews through production and post production, and give the time needed to make a quality film that we are proud of.
This is where YOU come in!

I cannot thank ALL of you enough for taking the time to read about what is on my heart and to help make this filmmaker's dream come true. If nothing else, I hope this campaign alone can inspire each person who comes across it to think twice about needing to "have it all together" and instead, to take a breath and just be you. It will change your life.
