Indie Memphis enriches, inspires, and connects the Memphis community by showcasing independent films and supporting filmmaking artists. We are most known for our annual film festival in November approaching it's 20th anniversary in 2017. Indie Memphis is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

A weekly film series, every Wednesday of 2017 beginning on February 1st.
During this initial fundraising campaign you receive 50% OFF TICKETS & SPONSORSHIPS. Our presenting sponsor Orion Federal Credit Union has graciously agreed to match all contributions until we meet our goal!
The series will mirror our festival in many ways by showing a variety of new narrative and documentary feature films, classics, festival encores and short film programs. Indie Wednesday is also an opportunity to expand our offerings with foreign films and classics on 35mm that we do not have room for during the festival. And most importantly, we can finally bring the top indie films to Memphis that release throughout the year and have already finished their theatrical run before our November festival.

We strive to bring you great entertainment, but also to showcase thought-provoking films that create conversations in our community. Our program will include emerging regional filmmakers to support artists that are making it happen in our own backyard. At the same time, we want to elevate the offerings available of the best films being produced across the world that currently are not coming to our theaters.
Recent praise from our festival...
"this was the most diverse make-up of audiences I’ve seen at a festival for a long time... heavy topics were also delivered in an environment of huge fun"
- The Independent (UK) by Kaleem Aftab
"infused with the city’s warmth and buoyed by the local music acts (they play before each screening), ranks as one of the more satisfying regional film festivals around. Where else do you overhear folks debating BBQ and fried chicken houses while in line for the latest films by Kelly Reichardt and Raoul Peck?"
- Brooklyn Magazine by Paul Dallas
"Hometowner IndieGrants Shorts: as good a shorts program as I've seen in any context. Career-best work by multiple Memphis filmmakers."
- John Beifuss
"The Invaders ... provides a powerful lesson to young people about how to organize and find a voice in a system that works to silence them; on how to be change agents in a community during times when the emphasis is on order instead of justice."
- Commercial Appeal by Tonyaa Weather

The support we build from this campaign will have a direct impact on the quality and scope of the program. Long story short, if the audience demand is there, we can continue to build the program by adding special guest speakers, musicians and traveling filmmakers.
