INK is a short body/creature horror film that explores themes of body, motherhood, obsession and myth. It's a snapshot of Joey's life at a moment when fear and longing meet with forces unknown to bring forth a nameless terror.
After a pregnancy scare, JOEY marks the occasion with a new tattoo and a drunken night of distraction. When she arrives home in the early hours of the morning, she’s confronted with the truth about what she really wants and the past that's driven her to the brink of obsession. Her desires and circumstances intersect to awaken a monster who answers her unwitting call.

So what do we need $10,000.00 for? Let us lay it out for you:
Your generous donation will go towards all of the fun and expensive things that it takes to make a film! Here goes:
-
We need to create our wonderful monster! (Though we enjoy Ed Wood for all the laughs he's supplied, we are aiming a little higher).
-
Looking good ain't easy (or cheap) we'll also use your donations for makeup and wardrobe.
-
We need to build and style a very specific set in studio. . . Location, location, location!
-
A crew's gotta eat!
-
INSURANCE!
-
We want to make this the most beautiful film we possibly can. We'll need a Red Epic Dragon with all the great lenses and accessories, a data capture cart and a high-quality lighting setup in order to bring you something visually stunning.
-
Don't forget the audio. We'll need funds for some top-notch sound recording as well as soundtrack and audio effects.
- It takes a lot of horsepower to drag construction materials from one location to another, we need some of your donations for travel expense
- We want to give a little something to our incredibly talented and generous cast and crew

We left some stuff out just to make sure we're not getting ahead of ourselves. If you help us exceed our goal, we will use the funds for the following:
- Editing and post-production! It's a HUGE part of making a film and it can take countless hours to complete. Your funds will help this little film come to fruition!
-
Submitting to film festivals. Yes, it's not always free and getting our film submitted to be seen around the world will take some real dough. Your donations will help us show everyone what we've worked so hard for! And we'll love you for it. But, of course, we'll do more than that. . .

Well, other than our undying devotion and getting to see an awesome movie at the end that YOU helped make, we also have some really great perks. . .
***Most perks include all of the lower-level perks as well. See Menu to the right for more information. --->

1.)Visual Aesthetic
Ashlea's artistic vision and visual aesthetic are unique. With your help, we can bring them to life in "INK" to create a singular filmic experience that's atmospheric, beautiful and grotesque all at once.
2.)Unique take on the female protagonist
Our protagonist JOEY is an unusual lead in that she doesn't fit the standard archetypes of women in film. She's highly independent and not what would widely be considered feminine, or representative of motherhood. She's messy and damaged but also strong and resilient. It was important to us to show a real woman who's characteristically and physically outside of the media's "norm".
3.)Our entirely original story and screenplay
The original story is Ashlea's brainchild. INK offers a fresh perspective in a genre with so many creative possibilities but so few female voices.
4.)Awesome Makeup and SPFX
From full-body tattoos to tentacles and monster FX, Jen Wright and our makeup team are creating a great visual presence for Joey, along with all of the creepy and gross additions that make us love the horror genre. Everyone loves a monster. . .
