Hello, my name is Evan Miller, and I am currently a Senior in the School of Film & Photography at Montana State University. I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to write and direct a compelling capstone project as part of the curriculum at Montana State. We have an amazingly talented team assembled to make this film, but we need your help to take this film from paper to screen.

When it comes down to it, Insolvency is about family. Family and redemption, specifically. The film examines the relationship between father and son as they struggle with the challenges beset upon them by their socioeconomic status, and the long-term impact of the loss of a loved one within the immediate family.
Why are we making this film?
We believe that the people that are depicted in this film are a type of character not often portrayed on-screen, be it in short or feature-length format. As such, we would like to bring to light the nuances and struggles of a social class that is prevalent in today's society, yet under-represented in media and art.
We also want this film to be a learning experience for the underclassmen in the School of Film & Photography. On-set experience is critical in the formative years of film school, and will lay the foundation for the Freshmen and Sophomore students as they move forward in the program. As such, we want their on-set experience to be as informative and worthwhile as possible. We've scheduled workshops and info sessions for our crew members, allowing them to have time to work with senior crew heads and more advanced equipment in a low-pressure environment prior to being on the actual set.

Where is the money going?
This is a large-scale production. As our capstone project, it is our "final say" in film school, and serves as the compilation of everything we have learned over the past three years. The aesthetic of this film, including the visual style developed by our Director of Photography, and the production design developed by our Art Director, is critical to the success of this film. With your support, we'll be able to cover the costs of the following:
-Renting additional camera gear, including multiple lenses and potentially a second camera body.
-Renting additional lighting equipment, including high-powered 4K HMI lights from local gear houses.
-Covering usage costs for our locations. We have multiple locations that we will be in for multiple days, and we need to be able to compensate the property owners who are kind enough to let us use their spaces.
-Art department requirements, including in-depth production design and special effects (props, wardrobe, blood and makeup effects, etc)
-Crew coverages. Because it is a larger-scale shoot, we will by extension have a larger crew. We need to ensure that these crew members are adequately taken care of while on set, including meals and special needs in certain locations/weather conditions.
-Miscellaneous on-set needs.
Our team understands that money is tight for a lot of folks, especially these days. If you are unable to give, all we ask is that you share us! FaceBook, Twitter, Email, Tumblr-you name it! We're looking for help spreading the message about this film, and want to make it in the best way possible, and that's only possible with your help! So, thank you for taking time to check out the campaign for Insolvency, and help us spread the word!
