Let's Play!

I’m Alexia, a senior film student at NYU. This is IT’S ALL PLAY, my thesis film.

A short psychological drama where stage meets screen. The film follows a breakout actress, her play director, and her complex relationship with her boyfriend (think if the movie Black Swan met the television show Fleabag).  It features dynamic female actresses right here in New York City! 

For high school, I attended a small and intimate performing arts academy. Learning theater in a competitive environment with your close friends (and sometimes lovers) manifested in frightening ways. Like our protagonist Mary, I’ve seen people become consumed by their art and critiqued to the point of breaking.

Meet the Crew!

Alexia Mychal (she/her) - Director, Writer and Co-Producer

Alexia is primarily a director and editor based in New York City. She often dip between fiction and reality with my favorite genre being docu-fiction. 

Meagan Wachtel (she/they) - Director of Photography

Meagan is a 22 year old director and cinematographer based in NYC completing her senior year at NYU’s Film and Television department.  As a Cuban-American from New Jersey, they love working on identity based genre pieces that uplift underrepresented stories and storytellers.
