So What's This Film About?

First-year teacher Elizabeth Welks, running into first-year problems, is coaxed by her roommate into a quest to buy marijuana.  With no idea where to find it, she searches the only place she can think... the history department.  There she finds Mr. Russ Kopchek, who becomes her liaison into what proves to be a highly enlightening and entertaining trip into the illicit sub-culture.

This slice of life comedy reflects on the confusion of the young generation as it steps from the safety of education, into a world they were never taught to expect.  Lost in the chaos of “real-life” and public education, facing the realization that things aren’t going to go quite as planned, Elizabeth struggles to hold her head above the smoke.

What's This "Rogue Lumen Productions" I Keep Hearing About?

Founded in 2009, Rogue Lumen is based on the premise that filmmaking and art should be inclusive rather than exclusive.  We strive to provide a platform to voices who believe, like us, that a burning desire to create art is infinitely more important than who you know

Filmmaking is our passion and main focus; and today we're in the process of creating our first feature film to prove that it's not just the multi-million dollar budgets and big name studios that can make great film.  At Rogue Lumen, we take a grassroots approach to the process and that means we're making this film for the people, by the people and with the generous support of you, the people.

Why Should I Give My Money To These Guys?

Making a film is essentially a combination of running a business and supporting a family.  We've got mouths to feed, bills to pay, plus we need to rent camera dollies and c-stands.  Believe it or not, even filmmakers run out of money.  And unfortunately, making good movies isn't cheap, so either we make bad movies cheaply or we make a good movie with your help.

Did we mention we're shooting everything on location in the beautiful city of Chicago?  Help get your favorite metropolis in the movies!

What Will The Funds Go Towards?

We need the start-up funds to get this production rolling for summer 2011.  Your donation will go towards:

- professional equipment purchase / rental

- video tape stock / digital media

- set design

- props

- costumes

- meals and snacks for cast / crew

- location fees

- permits

- production insurance

- business license

- promotional material

What Else Can I Do To Help?

This is grassroots filmmaking in its purest form.  We sincerely appreciate each and every one of your contributions and your support of our work.  Please help spread the word by sharing this web page with others.  Email us at info@roguelumen.com to find out other ways to promote the film.  Together we can get this movie made!
