We believe no one should have their rights denied or be treated any differently because of their ethnicity or religion and we hope our film can start a conversation of change and awareness.

Isa is a Palestinian Administrative Detainee who, after being refused visits from his family in prison, goes on hunger strike. Isa's will to fight comes from his strong relationship with his young daughter Rima, she is the driving force for his strength. Isa is detained without knowing his crime, and protests this by staging a hunger strike. However the consequence of this is that he is force fed. Isa's struggles to stay mentally stable whilst fighting for his liberty.

The film explores the effects legal systems have on disenfranchised families whilst providing a timely exploration of the lengths people go through to fight for justice. We will be highlighting the plight of people removed from the legal process. We hope this film will provide a wider cultural and human understanding into a commonly misrepresented society. We want explore the relationship between these two peoples and the problems they are facing.

Who are We?

We are third year film students creating this as our graduation project, our graduation films are screened to BAFTA scouts so any contribution will aid us in creating this project for festivals. A film made with some of our students  (My Brother is a Mermaid) currently has won; 3 BAFTAs, and is nominated for another 3 awards.

What We Need 

• Our film is a large project, we have to build a prison essentially! So need £1,500 to make this happen.
• We have around 5 main cast and 15 minor roles/extras to feed and accommodate for travel.
• However your contribution will not go unnoticed! We have perks from; an executive producer credit, to a hand written note from our director to even a day on set!

The Impact

Our film is a very personal story, a broken vulnerable man just trying to hold on to his sanity. 

• We want to show the struggles people are still facing today, the world still has so much evil that the Western society isn't always exposed to.
• Our producers have raised good sums of money for other films such as UMAN, Under the White Sun and Sweet Changeling. As well as an experienced  team including our Director of Photography Lorene Desportes. (Click on Title/Name for IMDB page)

Risks & Challenges

As a team we understand that we have quite a few challenges to overcome;

• We are dealing with a strong topic that affects thousands of people; we believe that we could offer a unique insight as a result of our directors personal experiences.
• We also have a few graphic scenes; we have a force feeding scene as well as characters frequently coughing blood and vomiting as a result of their hunger strike. These actions will be handled with care whilst hopefully conveying the struggle we are trying to represent.
