Dojo Kun Comics presents award-winning novelist Janice Hardy's trilogy The Healing Wars, Book 1, Part 1: The Shifter

This campaign brings you the 70-page incredible story of Nya, an orphan struggling for survival in a city crippled by war. She is also a Taker – with her touch, she can heal injuries, pulling pain from another person into her own body. But unlike her sister, Tali, and the other Takers who become Healers’ League apprentices, Nya’s skill is flawed: She can’t push that pain into pynvium, the enchanted metal used to store it. All she can do is shift it into another person, a dangerous skill that she must keep hidden from forces occupying her city. If discovered, she’d be used as a human weapon against her own people.

Risks & Challenges

One value held steadfastly by Dojo Kun Comics is an appropriate amount of transparency. We will be open and honest with our updates and will discuss with our extremely important backers any risks and obstacles we encounter on the way to producing this graphic novel.

• One challenge is raising enough to produce the comic *and* to pay the licensing fee. 
• Dojo Kun Comics had a successful first campaign and funded within three days. We are optimistic that the support for this project will be even stronger.

• Other possible challenges are vendor delays, postage costs and unfortunate life events (such as sickness, weather-related issues, etc.)

• Dojo Kun Comics has been publishing comics for six years now and have published 12 comics and run one fully funded IndieGoGo campaign ("Siamese").
• Dojo Kun Comics has partnered with Janice Hardy, to produce six graphic novels, two for each of the books in her trilogy, The Healing Wars.
