Short Summary
Hi! I'm independent singer-songwriter Jetty Rae. I am an artist, a writer, and a poet. I am of the notion that words used succinctly can breach every wall, penetrate every heart, and express the noblest of joys along with the deadliest of sorrows. I am also of the notion that words sometimes fail me. Sometimes I can only express silence.
Over the past seven months I've been struggling to complete my latest album called Climbing Clouds. These songs are very emotionally charged, and when I sing them--I no longer just hear these lyrics and stories...I see them. I want to take you the listener on not only a beautifully rich audio journey--but a visual one. The power of film and cinema coupled with these five songs off of my new EP are going to be works of art. I would love to invite the listener into my world, of joy, pain and loss--to see what I intended you to imagine.
I am so thankful that I remain an independent artist, and fortunately I can still create my own music without fan support, but for this project my funds are not enough to cover my vision. I am dreaming big, and with your support we can make something truly beautiful and moving.
What We Need & What You Get
Our goal is actually lower than the cost of all of these music videos. The actual cost of pre-production, shooting, and editing would be somewhere in the ball park of $20,000. Thankfully my director John Paul and his team at Eleven35 Productions is willing to work with me because he see's value in my project. The money YOU give will be used to pay John Paul for his hours of story-boarding, location scouting, shooting and editing. It will also cover travel costs to Reno Nevada to shoot my video for "Off The Grid." Any extra funds made will be going to Eleven35, as well as my amazing Producer who has helped me create these songs for pennies! I am working with some very humble artists who believe in me enough to donate their livelihoods for fractions of the cost of what they usually charge. It's really important for me to pay them what they are worth--just because we are artists doesn't mean we should do things for free. You would never ask a dentist for a free visit, same with my director and producer. I feel very passionately about paying independent artists what they are worth--like myself they don't have major studios backing their projects, they are self-funded.

The Impact
Obviously I am very passionate about my music--and I want thousands of people to hear it. In this day and age nobody buys a full album anymore, it's all about the single. I am hopping that with these videos my music can break into the mainstream--and go VIRAL! Wouldn't it be cool for you to be a part of the journey that launches my career into the mainstream market? You can say you knew me when, and also take credit for launching my career to the world at large.
Fortunately I have been a singer-songwriter for the last 7 years, and over that time I have played in over 23 States! I have independently released four albums, and have gained the attention of entities like MTV, JetBlue, Sarah McLachlan and Lilith Fair. In the last year you also may have heard me singing on your television on Truvia's commercials! Honestly I am discouraged about the messages and music that is so popular nowadays. Nobody cares about substance and good writing--wouldn't you like to make that popular again? Wouldn't you like to support an artist who actually plays an instrument and writes her own songs? How much many of you download artists from iTunes who don't really care about their art...it's all about money to them. Don't be a mindless drone, support music that matters, and music that is alive!
