"I hope that we will not find a day in the United States when all of us are spectators except for a few who are out on the field, I hope all Americans will be on the field."     President John F. Kennedy

This documentary film will show how vigorous exercise is linked to high academic test scores, business productivity, and emotional health.  It will show “why” we must exercise to achieve our highest potential, and explain why countries like the US are falling behind in areas like academic test scores in Math & Science, flat-lining in business productivity, and declining in emotional health (becoming increasingly dependent on prescription drugs to ward the impact of depression, anxiety, stress, and many other mental health conditions). It will show the uniform results of over 1,000 scientific peer-reviewed studies that match the historic narrative:  physical education or what JFK called “physical vigor” is what enables society to improve their quality of life.

It’s not just PE.  Real Physical Education is the solution to address many of the ailments of our society, not just for youth, but adults as well. The solution requires a shift in effort from schools, corporations and health care practitioners.

What Happened to Physical Education?

In 1957 there was no PE program more impressive than the one at La Sierra High. Their results were so amazing that the program captured the attention of President John F. Kennedy, who announced his famous challenge for America to make a "Great National Effort"  to become physically fit.  Excitement surrounded La Sierra's PE curriculum. Eventually over 4,000 schools across the nation followed this program.

...until PE programs were subject to budget CUTS and Kennedy's goal for physical fitness for our children was virtually forgotten.

This is the story that started as a grassroots effort of concerned parents, which spread to secondary schools, and then to medical schools and concerned corporations.   This is the story of human potential and human achievement.  This documentary represents a revival of President Kennedy's Great National Effort.

Imagine if it never stopped!

You watched actual footage of this program, filmed long ago, on our trailer. Imagine an entire gym full of kids, all physically fit, today.  Shouldn't this be a normal PE class?   It was 50 years ago!  Why not now?

Would you like to do this workout?

Once you try the "Strength & Endurance Routine" shown in this video, you'll quickly understand why the kids in these videos had bodies like that.  This workout routine actually has its roots back to ancient Greece.

We filmed a 40 minute training video and also a 12 minute "once-through" video on this routine.  Both videos are included as a perk for any contribution of $25 or more to our campaign.
