DONATE EQUIPMENT TO THE COLOMBIA LACROSSE ASSOCIATION
We are holding an equipment drive (please think about donating men’s or women’s equipment! - balls, long sticks and goalie sticks are especially needed!) in the U.S. during the entirety of the World Championships in order to help the Colombia Lacrosse Association create new teams and take full advantage of the growth in interest that will come after the National Team trip. The cost of sending equipment down to Colombia is expensive, and is the major hurdle that stands in the way of us reaching our potential. Colombia has been invited by the Federation of International Lacrosse to join the 38-country field at the World Lacrosse Championships this July in Denver, Colorado. The top 25 players in the country have been selected. Our greatest dream is to get to Denver for the World Lacrosse Championships.
Lacrosse in Colombia was born on July 15th, 2012. We have grown rapidly to over 200 dedicated players between 4 different cities. We need your help to reach the next level.

What We Need & What You Get
The total cost of bringing 25 players to Denver is $64,920, however we have pooled the personal savings of all our players and have reached $40,314. Additionally, we have raised $7,840 from on the ground fundraisers.
However, despite our best efforts, we need your support to make the trip happen. We need to raise $17,549 (after indiegogo fee) to realize our goal.

The Impact
Going to Denver for the World Championships would be more for us than just a chance to compete in the sport we love.
It would be the first time out of the country for all but 5 of us, and as such is a chance for us to grow as people and make our families and communities proud on a deeper level.
It is a chance for us to see the sport played on the biggest stage and to learn the culture from the best in the game. We will be able to bring those lessons back to Colombia where we will serve as growers of the game, ensuring sustainable development of the sport.
Representing Colombia in the World Championships will spark the interest of athletes all over the country. This will allow us to not only provide the positive benefits of sport to more people, but also to increase the amount of competition and talent within the Colombia Lacrosse Association.
The government sports department has told us that if we achieve the goal of going to the World Championships that they will support us in becoming an official sports Federation within Colombia. This will result in sustainable funding from sport development governmental programs and allow us to create paid positions for coaches, refs, and administrators.
The ripple effects of increased interest and in-country s will allow us to start youth, high school, and university programs.

Colombia ha sido seleccionado por la Federación Internacional de Lacrosse (FIL) para ser uno de 38 países compitiendo en el Campeonato Mundial de Lacrosse este julio en Denver, Colorado. Los mejores 25 jugadores del país ya han sido seleccionados.
Nuestro sueño mas grande es llegar a Denver para el Campeonato Mundial de Lacrosse.El lacrosse en Colombia nació el 15 de julio del 2012. Hemos crecido rápidamente a 200 jugadores dedicados en 4 ciudades diferentes. Necesitamos su ayuda para llegar al siguiente nivel.
Entendemos lo importante que es llegar a Denver. Entendemos cuanto esta experiencia puede cambiar nuestras vidas, las vidas de otros jugadores Colombianos, y como va avanzar el deporte en Colombia. Su donación no es una suma de una vez. Al contrario, es una inversión al desarrollo sostenible de nuestro programa y el éxito a largo plazo porque el viaje a Denver cambiara el lacrosse en Colombia. para aprender la cultura de los mejores del deporte. Vamos a poder traer esas
lecciones de regreso a Colombia donde vamos a servir como promotores del
deporte en nuestro país, asegurando el desarrollo sostenible del lacrosse.
Representar
a Colombia en el Campeonato Mundial despertará el interés de los atletas de
todo el país. Esto no solo nos permitirá ofrecer los beneficios positivos del
deporte a más personas, sino aumentara el nivel de competencia y talento dentro
de la Asociación Colombiana de Lacrosse.
El
departamento de deportes del gobierno nos ha dicho que si realizamos nuestra
meta de ir al Campeonato Mundial que ellos nos apoyaran en convertirnos en una
Federación deportiva oficial en Colombia. Esto resultara en financiación
sostenible de programas gubernamentales del desarrollo deportivo y nos
permitirá crear puestos pagados para entrenadores, árbitros &
administradores.
El
efecto dominó de un mayor interés y apoyo en el país que resultara de nuestro
viaje nos permitirá empezar programas juveniles, colegiales y universitarios.
