We Are Jubo

Hello! We’re three ambitious high school girls developing a rental service for external phone battery reserves planted in heavily congested urban areas.

We are currently developing unique vending machines at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. However, we need your financial help in order to continue designing and manufacturing this advanced technology so that millions of people around the world can feed their phones. We believe that our service will offer a convenient way for busy on-the-go commuters to ensure that their smartphones last longer during critical moments throughout the day.

What We Need & What You Get

We are asking for $30,000 in funding.  This amount allows us to perform all of the research and development needed to create the machines, as well as allows us to pay for manufacturing of and rental space for our first few machines.

Our perks are very specific to JUBO.  We offer a variety of limited edition JUBO merchandise, such as t-shirts, mugs, and cell phone cases, but we also offer discounts and free uses of JUBO machines for those of you who live in Boston (our first location).  If you don’t live in Boston, though, there is no need to fear, with your help, we will soon be able to grow to many more cities around the world, and for now, you can enjoy showing off your JUBO pride!

We chose the Fixed Funding option, which means that if we do not reach our goal of $30,000, all of the money is refunded back to our contributors.

The Impact

Smartphones play an essential role in today's increasingly technology-dependent world from conference calls to candy crush. However, smartphone battery lives can be distressingly short and leave many people without their most valuable resource in times of need.

The idea for JUBO began when all three of us realized that we were running out of phone battery multiple times a day. To make matters worse, this recurring problem usually happened when we were outside of the house with no immediate means of charging our phones. After brainstorming a variety of solutions to this one common problem, JUBO was born.

With help from JUBO, preserving phone battery won’t be a widespread inconvenience anymore and people will be able to charge their phones on-the-go!

Risks & Challenges

All projects have a certain amount of risk associated with them.  Our main risk is making sure that we get the full funding, because this is the amount that we need to be able to make any further steps.  For that reason, and to minimize the risks, we decided to choose the Fixed Funding option, meaning that if we do not reach our goal, all of the money is refunded back to you, our contributors, and we will not proceed with the company.
