The Challenge
Today we buy 400% more clothing
than we were buying 20 years ago. This is due to fast fashion.
Last year North Americans purchased
20 billion fashion garments. That works out to 60 garments each for every man,
woman and child in the country. The result is that around 70lbs of clothing is
being tossed in the garbage per person every year!
When we had our child we learned that the
childrenswear industry was one of the worst culprits.
Standard baby clothing comes in 3
month size increments. Within a baby’s first year they go through 4 sizes of
pants! This is not only inconvenient and costly for parents, but it
contributes greatly to the waste outlined above. Fast fashion clothing
uses cheap materials and manufacturing that doesn't last. The result is a continuous
loop of over consumption!
The Solution
Stylish, sustainable, affordable. We have
created KOOSHOO Kids Pants to fit 3X longer than traditional kids clothing. Our daughter is 20 months old and wearing the
same sized pair KOOSHOO
Kids Pants as she did when she was just 5 months old. With 4 million
babies born annually in North America, a design like ours could save 8
to 12 million garments from landfills annually - in just that size
alone!

We've wear-tested these pants on children around the world and the love for them has been unanimous. Now we need your help.
How This Works
Crowdfunding is helping something get made in exchange for a great deal. Funds raised will allow us to go to production on the Kids Pants. Without your help, these pants cannot be made.
Below we’ve put together 12 great packages. By purchasing a package, and sharing this campaign with friends and family that care, you'll help make fashion accountable to our next generation.

We designed our KIds Pants so that you can literally expand the pants as your child grows. The benefits: less shopping, less waste, more comfort & more savings.
Expandable Waistband: Wear folded over at first and roll up as they grow.

2. Supreme COMFORT
Our kids
pants have been designed with a wide waistband to eliminate pressure points. In
other words: tummy friendly and big belly breathing
The yoga-pant inspired fold-over waistband can be rolled for hip-hugging snugness or unrolled for more coverage and warmth. Minimal seams on the waistband means no bulk or itchiness.
Flatlock stitching is used for high performance activewear because it's ultra-strong, reversible and has a seamless feel.

3. Incredibly DYED FABRICS
4 solid neutrals that make great staples for every
wardrobe. We chose these 4 colors because they work with every outfit.
4 hand dyed Batik colors that are super cool. Batik is an ancient Indonesian art-form that
involves patterning with hot wax. We work with artists in Los
Angeles who individually hand dye each pair of pants.
All garments are dyed using low impact reactive dyes in a solar powered
dye house.
4. The Finest ORGANIC COTTON
We've used the softest organic cotton so no pesticides are rubbing against your child’s sensitive skin. When blended with just the right amount of spandex for stretchability, you get the most comfortable kids pant on the market.

5. SIZES TO GROW with your child
As parents, we understand once you find a great thing, you don't
want to let it go. We've developed KOOSHOO Kids Pants with
sizes that range from 1 month to 5 years – and a unisex style that caters for cloth
diapers to undies.

Our Story
We're Rachel and
Jesse. We're yoga teachers. We're the proud parents of
a one and a half year old cheeky-little-girl. We're the founders and designers behind KOOSHOO.
We launched our
company 4 years ago, ethically manufacturing one size fits all accessories
(headbands, hairties, shawls) out of Los Angeles.
Our goal from the
beginning was to be a better option to fast fashion. We've carved out a
reputation (and a passionate community) for our versatile designs, thus cutting down on waste, one of fast
fashions many shortcomings.
Naturally, when we decided to make Kids Pants we approached them with the same
creative zeal. Hence, KOOSHOO Kids Pants fit 3X longer than other kids
pants.
Kooshoo means “feeling
good” in the language of Norfolk Island in the South Pacific, the small island
where Rachel grew up and where we currently call home.
For us, kooshoo is
a filter we use in our decision making, asking: “is this decision leaving
everyone feeling kooshoo? If yes, then we know it’s a great fit for our
business and our lives.
