If your dog is crate trained or loves their personal space at night, they will thrive with this tent set-up. After using our Kings Peak tent for the first time I can tell you, we won’t be using any other tent. Ollie slept more than he ever has backpacking, which is important because dogs need their rest just as much as humans do. He was never anxious because he could see that we were right next to him all night, and I even slept better knowing he was safe in his own area.

When we initially came up with this tent idea we were stoked about it. Then the prototype finally came and we were honestly anxious about trying it out because it didn’t matter how much we liked the idea, what mattered was if the dogs liked it! Let me tell you, Ollie thrived with this set up. Both Ollie and I slept better backpacking than we ever have! If you’re not convinced yet, we think your dog will be.
- Let’s be honest both you, and more importantly, your dog will get a better night’s rest in your own separate spaces
- It separates your dirty pup from your gear
- You can leave the doggy door open for them to roam while keeping your section partitioned off from mosquitoes and other bugs
- You will know your dog is safe and protected from the elements inside the tent
- The interior wall is mesh reducing anxiety for your dog, and you, because they can see you at all times
- The separate dog section utilizes your dog’s natural instinct or prior crate training to adjust quickly for a good night’s rest
“For thousands of years dogs have sought out small, enclosed spaces for shelter and security. Crating your dog can give him that feeling of safety, like he has his own room to go to.” -American Kennel Club (AKC)

This tent has 30% more space than your average 2 person tent to accommodate 2 people and 1-2 dogs. Besides the fact of keeping dirt and mud off your gear, the separate dog section utilizes your dog’s natural instinct or prior crate training to adjust quickly for a good night’s rest. Ollie is a restless sleeper at night unless he is in his crate. We will never use another tent with Ollie after experiencing the difference in sleep both he and we got.![]()

The large mesh wall on the inside is removable to allow quick access to your dog. The see-through material is there to let you and your dog see each other at all times and to enclose their space if desired to create a crate-like appearance. This wall can be easily unzipped so you can hang out with your dog while still leaving a thin baseboard to keep water and dirt away from your gear.![]()

A separate exit for your dog can provide many benefits. We like to allow our dog access to his shelter throughout the evening in case he wants to head to bed early or simply have a comfy place to relax. Being able to open only his section and not get mosquitoes in the main tent space is a big deal. As we all know, our pups like to follow us everywhere. Have you ever had to tinkle in the middle of the night and your furry friend takes off into the black abyss... well this will allow you to not worry about getting your dog all riled up at night and having to finding them when you’re half awake.

The shorter third pole that supports the front and back doors help maximize living space and create more head room. It proved effective while chilling in the tent and being able to sit up straight.

Just like everyone else we bought a puppy during the 2020 pandemic and it has been a blast. Even before we got Ollie, backpacking was a big part of our lives and we wanted our pup to be a part of that too. Taking dogs to the mountains is like taking kids to Disneyland, they obviously belong there. But we quickly found there was no easy way to accommodate Ollie sleeping at night without either making a mess of our gear or making him sleep outside. After contemplating a DIY solution, we decided that we should spend more time and effort to make the perfect solution and see if others were interested in the same idea. So, we created the Kings Peak tent that we are so excited to launch through this crowdfunding campaign.

Risks & Challenges
The Kings Peak tent is still in development and the final designs may change. The images for limited editions are the latest prototypes that we have, and we will update you with any changes to appearance, cost, or function.
By purchasing the Kings Peak tent on our crowdfunding campaign, you are helping to create something new — not ordering something that already exists. There may be changes or delays, and there’s a chance something could happen that prevents us from being able to finish the project as promised.
If we fail to complete this project, we will make every reasonable effort to find another way of bringing the project to the best possible conclusion for those that have reserved.
Return and refund policy
We offer a 1 year guarantee on all our products, but we do not offer refunds, exchanges, or returns for Kings Peak products received as a reward unless there is a clear malfunction from the factory.
We do not offer refunds if you have changed your mind, regretted your contribution, or are unsatisfied due to a shipping delay.
