Kingston
Court is an Australian comedy series like no other. Following the dysfunctional
lives of the occupants of the Kingston Court apartment complex. As obscene and
quirky as the characters are, the series itself addresses themes of following
your heart, confronting your fears, breaking free from the ego and becoming one
with your true self despite the pressures of society. But putting the cheesy,
self-help clichés aside, we are really passionate about bringing this project
to life and for that, we need you.

For the past
12 months we have been writing scripts, developing characters and shooting test
scenes, which you can view on our Vimeo page. We have pulled favours from left,
right and centre to get us this far, including painting houses in return for
film work and holding our castings in a borrowed shoe factory.
We have come
to the point where to take the next step we need some actual money. This
project means the world to us and we see it as a great opportunity for everyone
involved. From the actors, to the film crew, make up and wardrobe departments,
everyone creatively involved can benefit from your contribution.
We truly
believe that there is currently nothing else like it on Australian television.

By
contributing to our campaign, you will be turning our dream into a reality. The
pilot episode is a vital stepping-stone towards creating the whole series. Not
to mention the joy and happiness that we will be spreading to thousands of
people.
To fund this
project we have calculated that 15 thousand dollars will allow us to produce a broadcast
quality pilot episode. Every cent we raise will go towards:
- Film
crew
- Sound
department
- Actors
- Locations
- Post
production
- Make
up/wardrobe

In return for
your contribution, we have some fantastic, unique perks which we think you will
enjoy. Take your time and have a look, there is something there for everyone
including:
-
A Guided meditation video
from “Zac”
- Personalised
tax assessment from “Ryan”
- Custom
video clip from pop synth sensation “Calibre X”
- Chance
to see the finished episode before anyone else
- Dinner
with creators Adam and Chris
- Signed
scripts
- An
opportunity to come on to set during filming
- Plus
many more…
Our set
funding goal still requires a very tight budget on the production. Anything
over this figure will increase the amount of creative freedom that we will have
and go towards further development of the whole series.
However if we
don’t reach our final goal, whatever money raised will be used to produce a trailer
rather than a full pilot episode. Obviously this isn’t ideal, but it’s a step
in the right direction.

We are
sharing positive messages with a comedic twist. This is not just gratuitous
comedy by any means and you can help the world see it in all of its splendour. Creating
this project has been a personal journey for the both of us and we feel the show’s
themes are something that everyone can identify with.
MEET THE CAST
Bernard &
Ophelia:
![]()
Bernard and
Ophelia have an unconventional relationship. At first glance, Ophelia appears to be Bernard’s prisoner living in a supply closet that has been converted into an apartment. Bernard is the unofficial caretaker of Kingston Court apartments. From the outside Bernard looks to be in charge but who is really in control?
Calibre X –
Dave and Steve:
![]()
Calibre X is
an emerging pop synth duo with a not so bright future. Dave is the outrageously
flamboyant front man whilst Steve is the technician and beat master. For Dave,
being the lead singer of a pop group brings with it some narcissism and neurosis
that is levelled out by Steve’s cooler head. Join them on their journey towards
stardom….or not.
Trevor aka
T-Bone:
![]()
Trevor was
born to Bollywood superstars but abandoned at a very young age. He was adopted
by Jamaican missionaries and raised by his aunty in Australia. All his life he
has been raised as Jamaican and never been told about his Indian heritage. He
runs the family weed dealing business to make ends meet but has a deep seeded
desire to break into Bollywood.
Zac and Ryan:
![]()
Zac and Ryan are old family friends, growing up together in a hippy commune. They have since lead polar opposite lives with Zac embracing and following the hippy lifestyle whilst Ryan joined the rat race, becoming aforensic accountant for the ATO. Can these two live in harmony or will their differences make for a ridiculous story? We think the latter.

Adam and Chris have been involved in the Australian television and film industry for more than 20 years combined, primarily in front of the camera but more recently with writing and producing projects.
Since meeting on the set of the ABC’s Blue Water High in 2005, Adam and Chris have become BFFs on and off the screen. Whilst honing their skills individually, they’ve always collaborated well creatively and hoped one day to work together again on Australian television.
Kingston Court will see the pair revive their on-screen relationship for the first time in 9 years while also marking their foray into writing and producing for television.

This IndieGogo
campaign is just the beginning of our journey.
We are aware
that creating a television show from the ground up is an enormous task that
spans not only the development and production of the actual series, but extends
further into the distribution and sales to networks and video on demand
channels. What we’ve found in the past is that the only way to tackle big goals
is to take them one step at a time. In this case the first step is to create
the pilot episode. This allows viewers and interested parties, to get a taste
for the style, pacing and overall feel of the show. Therefore future success
hinges on the pilot episode being the best quality possible to acquire the
greatest amount of interest.
To stand out
in this industry you need to create truly original, engaging content that is
relevant. Television networks are rarely willing to take risks and therefore
tend to only produce safe material. That’s the reason why we have turned to
YOU. We’re looking to engage like-minded people who recognise that there is an
alternative. We have written a truly original series that is backed by an
outstanding creative team with a wealth of experience and knowledge. The last
piece of the puzzle is you.

Not all of us
have spare money lying around which is why we’re here. So if you are unable to
contribute financially then any help promoting our campaign would be greatly appreciated.
Share this page, like it, share the videos and updates. If there is anyone that
you know who might be able to contribute then please pass this on. We will be
forever grateful.
