Koringberg - Synopsis
Ruan and Letitia Roodenacht are a young professional couple who trade their busy city lives for the countryside. "We’re going back to our roots!" is what the couple tell their friends when deciding to move to the remote farming town of Koringberg.
In the idyllic village - almost a ghost town with deserted, gravel streets and people lurking through curtains - they are initially happy. But something is amiss.
Who is the beautiful, battered colored girl who Letitia constantly sees wandering the streets at night? What is Koringberg’s hidden and sordid secret? Why do the townspeople hide themselves from the newcomers? The answer may be hiding in the town’s recent history, layered with prejudices from the past…

Who We Are
Twinfish Productions is an up-and-coming film production company based in Pretoria, South Africa. We have extensive experience in producing corporate films, music videos, and various other forms of video production. We have, for a while, felt that we are ready to move onto producing feature films. However, funding has been a problem. We commissioned award winning South African playwright, Schalk Schoombie to write the screenplay for Koringberg. We feel that it is a story that needs to be told, and it would be a shame for it to go to waste because of lack of funding.
We have already approached a few well known South African film producers with the hope that they would fund the project, they all said to us that they see the value of the screenplay, but will only provide the funding if they can have total control of all of the creative aspects of the project. Seeing as though Twinfish Productions is completely run by actors, we feel that handing the project over to someone else would defeat the whole purpose of our original goal with Koringberg.
We are here to create a stir in the South African film industry, and to show the "big-dogs" that the "under-dog" is also capable of creating something worthwhile in this cut-throat industry. We have total confidence in our script and our team. All we need is for YOU to have some confidence in us too.
What We Need & What You Get
Basically what we need from you is help us to fund the filming of Koringberg. This includes everything from equipment rental, securing the best possible actors, crew costs and everything else that we need to get this movie made. We dont expect to raise all of the funds on this platform, but we at least would like to have a good chunk of the budget so that we can make a start. We are still continuing to try raise funds in many other ways, but every little bit helps...
What we are willing to offer you is a number of things such as credits, full downloads of the finished product, tickets to the premiere, as well as many other perks. Come on - help us show those guys that they are not the only ones who can make movies! We can do it too...
