Labyrinth Of Bones was started as a short story. I just wanted to set something in the world of myth and magic. It became much more when I suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm that almost did me in. Almost a year later, I struggle to do many things that I took for granted. Add in the fact that I wasn't ready for the emotional toll that came with all of this. Through all that I saw a bigger world in Farson. A much darker world. This book would become my comeback, my return to writing. It may be the most important thing that I ever write because it almost didn't happen.
- David Johnson Jr, Michael Waggoneer, and Erin Musgrave, the rest of the creative team also had personal and/or medical problems of their own. It was as if we were cursed. They made sure that we stayed the course though. The book had to happen. For all of us. We all needed this to regain our own souls and to show the world that we had what it takes. We showed the same tenacity as Gil does in mastering the Labyrinth

- All of the rewards are directly related to the book, and our goal is modest. We all have enough confidence in what we have made that we are all being paid in copies of the book. We know that it will sell at shows and in stores. We just need your help in making that happen.
- our 600 dollar goal will cover printing copies of the book, Indiegogo fees, and shipping and packing of the book and other prizes.. We hope to go over our goal and use the extra for promotion and more copies of the books.
- The perks are simple and to the point. We want to sell the book and not t-shirts, We do have a few amazing pieces of concept art by David Johnson Jr. that are one of a kind.

The book is finished and ready to print. All we need are your pledges.
- Gateway Runners was my first campaign. Even though it was a success, I was able to learn a lot about the post campaign work and am using that knowledge to make this run even better than that one did. I want to make comic books for the rest of my life. I can only do this by being an honest guy, and by delivering on what I promise. You will be kept up to date on printing, shipment and I will even contact you to see how I did.
Risks & Challenges
The risks on this project are minimal. The book is done. The tier prizes will be done and ready by the campaigns end and delivered to you soon after. The day the book returns from the printer I will begin shipping.
- Much of my time and money is spent on comic books. I know what it takes to ship them safely and securely. Your book will arrive bagged and boarded and ready to enjoy.
- I will be available during the process to inform you of the exact date of your books arrival. tracking numbers will be given and my personal phone number will be given to every backer.
Other Ways You Can Help
- Pledging a tier is vital. Hitting our goal and beyond helps make this dream come true and gets the book in your hand. There are other things to do to help support what we are doing.
- 1. Share this campaign on your social networks. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, whatever! The biggest challenge in any Indiegogo is getting the word out to potential patrons. You can make the difference in Labyrinth Of Bones being made.
- 2. If you go to the comic shop every Wednesday for your new books, tell them about us. We have tiers made for retailers, and that means that more people get to read the book.
An afterword....
I had a text page prepared for Labyrinth Of Bones that we did not have room for, but I want it to be seen. Here it is.
The Year Of The Bones
The general thought is that you always put something of yourself into your work. This has never been more true to me than with Labyrinth Of Bones.
The turbulent year has been the best and worst of my life. Catastrophic health issues, emotional rollercoasters higher and lower than I have ever experienced before. triumphs and losses, and still the urge to create burned in me.
Labyrinth was written as a five or six pager to maybe be a story in Nerd Nation Presents. It turned into so much more.
It wasnt just me on this roller coaster ride though. Misery loves company, and I had the best.
First, the writing process went far better when my editor stepped in and made a few story suggestions. Erin Musgrave helped me really see that the kingdom of Farson was far bigger than I expected. It was also far darker.
Erin became the Constant Reader in my life that Stephen King always spoke of. I can't begin to tell you how much she meant to the process.
David Johnson Jr and Michael Wagoneer were also traversing rough waters, but they were also dedicated to creating. They saw something in the script that made them want to bring it to life.
I had met the two in 2012 while working on Solestar, a charity book written by Siike Donnelly. I wanted to work with as many of that crew as I could, and continue to work towards that.
Through health issues and personal issues, they hung on and kept me going. If Erin was my compass, Dave and Mikey were the sails, catching the wind and getting us to our destination. We are truly Brothers In Arms. I owe them an unpayable debt.
Gil Ridden is waiting for you, so I won't keep you much longer. The Labyrinth Of Bones has never been beaten. Don't worry though, Gil has a plan.
Gene Hoyle.
