Last Man on Earth is a short pre-apocalypse sci-fi thriller about a team of virologists searching for a cure to cancer.  It's a film about decisions and their consequences. We successfully hit our initial funding target thanks to a wonderful community of contributers, sharers, friends and supporters. We're keen to push on to our stretch goals of £12,000 and £15,000 to keep the quality of the production up not only throughout the shoot but on into the long days of post production and distribution. The Doctor is returning to Manchester

We're hugely excited to have former Doctor Who Colin Baker cast in one of our lead roles. Colin's playing an renowned virologist who now fronts a bio research conglomerate. Here's Colin speaking about his role in the film.

What do you get for contributing?

You can still choose from a range of unique and special perks. There's something for everyone and all of them include a donation to cancer research charities The Christie and Cancer Research UK. We get some funding to make our film. They get some to do amazing real world research.

What will we spend it on?

Our story is ambitious in scale and we're looking to spread the money right across the spectrum of both production and post production because we believe that every element helps to tell the story. There are a lot of moving parts and these are all absolutely crucial in creating a believable world. But they also come at a price - that's where you can help.

The team behind the scenes

We're a team of multi award-winning filmmakers based in Manchester in the UK. Collectively our work has been shown at film festivals right across the world. We're big fans of innovative genre and all hugely focused on storytelling, We believe films are made by teams of people not by individuals.

We've worked in both the professional sphere and on low to no budget productions. We're all keen to take a step up with this project. It's not just a passion project but a proof of concept for our team going forward. You can find out more about the team at our website.
