Short Summary
"Le Band" was originally conceived as a short film, made in 2013 as a university project. I co-wrote the screenplay for said film and starred as Nigel Fury, the wannabe British punk rocker. Recently I decided to adapt and continue the story of the short film as a seven episode web series. What We Need & What You Get
We need to raise funds to pay for catering, locations and possible hotel for cast and crew. If we raise significant funds, we can pay for state-of-the-art equipment and make sure the crew are compensated well for their time and talents. We have several really fun rewards, but the main thing you get is the opportunity to watch a great, funny, and heartfelt sitcom that will be free to all. There will be no lengthy pitching process to networks or streaming services, leading you to wonder "Whatever happened to that project I donated to?" The show will be on YouTube within the year. The more funds we have, the faster we can make it happen, and the better the end result will be.
Risks & Challenges
Filmmaking is inherently difficult. Finding a reliable crew, securing locations, and even catering can all be immense challenges. There is always a chance that we may have to rewrite parts of the scripts if certain doors become closed to us. If that should happen, we will adapt. The more money we can raise through this campaign, the more flexible we can be in how we make the series. I have been a part of a number of film projects in the past, and problems always arise. We just have to be creative enough to work through them. I have a track record for always getting the job done, no matter what.
