Alpha 13/Dark

If this is the first time you've heard of us, you might be wondering why should I back these guys. Well, aside from getting your hands on some excellent leather goods, you should also know that you'll be in good hands. 

Communication. We'll be here for you. There won't be radio silence from us. 

Experience. We know how to run a crowdfunding project, from start to end. Managing logistics, production, shipping, etc. You name it, we've done it..and rather well I might add. :)

Service. We aim to take good care of our backers. Check out our previous projects' comments at Kickstarter and you'll see how we do things, handle concerns and respond to questions. 

Delivery. We've shipped on time, and , fingers crossed, we'll do so again this time around. Oh, and to make things easier for everyone, free worldwide shipping is included with all rewards.

Quality. Ok by this point we hope we've convinced you that we know our crowdfunding stuff. But are the bags any good? To answer that, you can read some reviews from backers, customers and medias here. All reviews are linked to their source for credibility.

F.C. 15/Brown

This is it. The collection we will launch with your help. Some are old favorites, tweaked and improved, the rest are new ones based on backers' suggestions. We've been working on this collection for a few months now, testing and refining them as we go along.  As a summary, this project features :  

• Alpha series - briefcase in 13 & 15 size.
• C.O. series - laptop bag in 15 size.
• F.C. series - messenger bag in 10, 13 & 15 size.
• Slim F.C. - slimmer version of the F.C. in 13 & 15 size.
• Denim F.C. - the F.C. design in handwoven denim, in 13 & 15 size.
• Fabric F.C. - the F.C. design in durable Sunbrella fabric, in 13 & 15 size.
• The leather bags come in 2 colors, Dark & Brown, while the non leather bag will be finished with Dark leather. 
• The number after the bag's name : 15 means it can fit a 15" laptop, 13 a 13" laptop and 10 a 9.7" iPad or similar sized tablet. 

Slim F.C. 15/Brown

One of the general features of our bags is being able to be mounted  on a suitcase (except for the F.C. 10). You will be able to do this either by using the handles (C.O. series), the grab handle (F.C. series) or by using a bonus leather strap we'll include for the Alpha series.

Each Alpha bag will come with one of these bonus straps that you can slip through the top handle's rings, enabling you to mount your Alpha bag on a suitcase.

Each bag comes with one of these bonus Sunbrella pouch to organize your stuff.

Our signature series, it's our take on the classic briefcase design. Rugged, durable and practical. They are lined with Sunbrella, a very durable and weather proof fabric and comes with a bonus small leather strap to attach the bag to a suitcase.

Our version of the classic field messenger bags, ready to take on all the adventures you throw at them. 

The C.O. series is our solution for a great laptop bag. Elegant with a dash of ruggedness thrown in.

All the good things about the F.C. series in a slimmer form and lighter weight. A simple and durable utilitarian bag for your essentials.

We team up with the guys at Lumintu (more info on them is available in "Materials" section of this project) to present you the F.C. series in handwoven denim exterior. Completing the look are leather trims, base and straps in Dark. 

In contrast with the traditional materials for the F.C. and the Denim F.C., here we use the modern Sunbrella fabric for both the exterior and the interior of the bag.  The outer for this series will be in black, the lining will be the same red with black stripes like the other lined bags. Like the Denim F.C.s, the leather trims, straps and base will be in Dark. This series is the lightest one in the whole F.C. collection.

Make your bags more personal by adding your initials ! Max 3 upper case letters, Roman alphabet, letters only, we can't do numbers or punctuation. The letters are 8mm tall. 

You can choose between two award winning fonts from Monokrom Font Foundry. Telefon for a modern clean look or Satyr for a more classic feel. For this project, the (optional) initials personalization is free! We'll contact you to ask for your initials details. 

Note : For Denim & Fabric F.C. 13 & 15 we'll add a small leather patch to stamp your initials or custom design and stitch it onto the front flap of the bag for no additional cost. 

• Full Grain Vegetable Tanned Leather 

First, to clear up any confusion vegetable tanned leather does not mean that we use vegan/imitation/synthetic leather, it refers to how we process/tan the leather we use. Vegetable tanning uses natural tannins found in some plant species to tan the leather. In all our goods, we use real full grain vegetable tanned leather.

Downsides to vegetable tanned leather : 

• Takes a long time to finish (about two months in our case) 
• Harder to find tanneries with workers skilled in it 
• Higher cost in general, but well worth it! 

Upsides : 

• Vegetable tanned leather have a more organic look with beautiful natural grains; It’s not uniformed, the irregularity gives the leather a unique aesthetic 
• It’s strong and durable 
• It will change over time, growing softer and darker, acquiring a nice patina as it ages, making each bag unique. 

Alpha 15/Brown

Full grain means that our leather comes from the strongest and most durable layer of the hide that has all of the grain. Our leather is not sanded down to take away its surface imperfections. Rather, we prefer its natural look and feel, with its markings and grain characteristics.

F.C. 15/Dark

We've worked a long time now with our leather tannery partner and the collaboration has been incredible. In this project you'll be able to choose between Brown, Dark or Black for your leather bags, while the Denim & Fabric F.C. bags will be finished with Dark leather. 

Note : Black was a late addition to our Kickstarter, at this point there are no sample products/photos yet. Basically the color will be solid Black, no lighter/darker spots like the Dark & Brown seen on the photos in this project page. 

• Handwoven Denim

We will be using one of the denim fabric produced by Lumintu.  Like us, their production is based in Indonesia. They are a small company based in Pekalongan, Indonesia, producing beautiful denim using time honored traditional techniques that you can see here. The Indonesian denim scene is very vibrant and we're very excited to be able to do this collaboration. The denim outer, Sunbrella lining and the leather details in the Denim F.C. series work really well together and we hope you'll agree. :)

Denim F.C. 13

• Sunbrella

We have been using Sunbrella to line our bags and for the bonus pouch for some time now and it has been very well received. It is made from acrylic and is extremely durable with great water repellent properties. The lining we choose has a base red color with black stripes. It's quite a striking color but not overwhelmingly so. We think it adds a bit more personality to the collection. Note : depending on your screen, the images might not display the small black stripes, but they're there.

Fabric F.C. 15

• Solid Brass Accessories 

Another suppliers we've worked together for quite some time. The solid brass accessories are handmade by Sotta Art of Jogjakarta, Indonesia, while the rivets are sourced from Buckleguy from the US. They are awesome people to work with and deliver high quality goods.

All leather goods will be made in house in our own workshop in Jakarta, Indonesia. With successful crowdfunding projects on our belt plus a few experiences handling large volume B2B orders, our team is prepared to craft your rewards.

Our timeline is as follows :

• July - conclusion of our Kickstarter campaign and start of supplier delivery
• August - final supplier delivery, continue production.
• September - continue production.
• October - goods inspection, packing. First batch of shipping begins.

We'll contact you to get all the necessary details. 

Do you guys offer warranty?

The same warranty policy that applies on our website applies here. If you're having problem, let us know and we'll take care of it. We can either replace, repair or if you don't want to be separated with your Cravar goods for too long, you can get it repaired locally and we'll reimburse the cost through PayPal.

How tall are the models in your video ?

Right, the two guys in he video and photos are Yoki and Rama, two of the founders. Here's the breakdown :

Rama : 5'9"/175cm, he's wearing terracota & blue window pane blazers, maroon jumper and white short sleeve shirt.

Yoki : 6'/183cm, he's wearing Navy, Cream & Brown blazers and Chambray shirt.

Are there internal pockets in the F.C. family?

No, as stated in the project page, all the F.C.s (including Slim, Denim & Fabric) has one big main compartment and aside from the slim, front & back pocket(s). There's no inside divider, so that we can maximize their capacity.
