What is Lemonade?
"Lemonade" takes place in the 1950s and follows the story of Valerie Callahan who is on the cusp of a failing marriage with her husband Michael. Is their relationship salvageable? Can a nice, cold glass of lemonade save it?
We are a small independent production consisting of amazing and talented people who want to tell a great story about a woman who takes back her life. Ours is a fresh and exciting new take on the female stereotypes that have become the norm in film.
In order to do so, we need your help because making a movie is no easy feat.
What We Need
We believe "Lemonade" is a story that needs to be told and we want to be able to make it the best we can. The purpose of our Indiegogo Campaign is to help us raise money for our productions costs.
An important aspect of our production and a crucial part of our budget is re-creating the 1950s. Our incredible Art team has been working very hard on researching the time period. We'll be building our own sets and dressing them to imitate the 50s, which is not easy. Costumes, hair and makeup is such an essential part we need to pay attention to as well. By staying as true to the era as possible is what is going to make us stand out from other short films.
Not only is making sure our movie looks good important but we also have to make sure that our crew behind the camera is happy and well fed too. A lot of the budget we are raising for is to provide meals for the amazing group of people that are working behind Lemonade. Not one job is too small, every person is needed on set and their job is especially important. Without each and every one of them, we simply cannot make this film.
