The Dark calls you.

Hello, my name is Otto, film student and current Producer of Lemony Snicket's 'The Dark'.

My crew and I are going to create a successful and exciting adaptation of one of Lemony Snicket's most recent children's book.

Laszlo is afraid of the Dark. Every night he sleeps with a light on so the Dark won’t visit him in his room. But one night Laszlo’s light goes out. The dark calls him and convinces him to leave his room, where he is forced to face his fears head on and embarks on a journey to the basement, the home of the Dark.

Money?

In order to film, we need money. This is something we have accepted, although the film will be made regardless of financial gains through crowd funding. What investing will do, is provide a real and noticeable boost to production values. We will be able to explore more fully, and produce more effectively, a short film that really pulls together all the skills we have been developing for the past years.

More money, essentially opens up different and more expansive opportunities to lift the film into a whole new level. Better suited locations, props, costumes etc, open up vast opportunities to really make this project something that stands out when so little else seems to these days.

Footprint

  • We intend for this short film to be a sort of revitalisation of that childhood fear we all felt from watching things like 'Goosebumps' and 'Are You Afraid Of The Dark'. Not only the fear though, but also the resolution. The aspect that really taught us a meaningful message,- a message we hope to resurrect with this short film.
  • We are currently in the process of casting actors for the main roles. We have access to the equipment needed to make it look as professional as possible, most noticeably, an AF101 Camera, and various useful accessories.
  • The script is finalised. The Storyboards are complete. This project has almost reached boiling point, and we are standing on the edge, getting ready to execute.

Help

Funding this project is not the only way to help though. Please take the opportunity to circulate the link to this page to as many people as possible. The more circulation this page receives, the more likely we are to gain the investors needed to succeed beyond our wildest expectations.
