A bullied pacifist sets his morals to the side when he discovers that his dad's collectible Mike Tyson gloves actually give him Mike Tyson's boxing abilities.

Summary

After another beating at school, Norbert decides that enough is enough and looks to take boxing lessons in order to defend himself. In a hurry, he grabs the only pair of boxing gloves lying around at home - his dad's signed, collectible Mike Tyson gloves. However, he soon discovers that these gloves actually give him Mike Tyson's boxing abilities.

About the Director

Hello! My name is Nikko Cordero and I am a Filipino-American filmmaker from the Bay Area. I am currently a senior as SDSU and wanted to close out my collegiate career with a bang by writing and directing my very own short film!

Growing up, my favorite film genres were comedies and action films. My love for 2000s films (White Chicks, Napoleon Dynamite, Rush Hour, etc.) and their extravagant characters inspired me to create a story that is reminiscent of that style. I want to showcase a film that has these comedic elements, while still telling a meaningful message about standing up for yourself.

As someone who used comedy as a way of dealing with his bullies, this film is extremely personal to me. I want people to take a break from the stresses they're dealing with in life and share a few laughs with the characters. I want people to find comfort in this film the way I did with my childhood films.

What we need

We have a budget of $4,500. This accounts for food services for our cast and crew, equipment, location expenses, props, production and set design, costumes, merchandise, post production, marketing, and distribution. With the locations we need in order to make the film, as well as making sure our talented actors and crew are properly fed, we ask for your help in making this film a reality!

Other Ways to Help

If you are not able to help us out monetarily, no worries at all! We would appreciate if you followed our Instagram @likemiketysonfilm, re-post our Indiegogo link, or simply let your friends know about it! Any support helps and we would love to get this film out their into bigger film festivals!

Thank you! <3
