The JEWCASTAR Story
From 1999-2004 I toured Internationally performing Jewish music. During that time, I had the vision to one day create a guitar that was shaped like a Star of David and had Jewish symbolism and spiritual intent. It wasn't until 2019 that I met guitar maker Alexander Halverson and together this dream has become the Limited Edition Jewcastar Guitar.
The most important thing to me and Alex was that the Jewcastar guitar would be a very high quality professional instrument first and a creative design second. We've sourced the best quality materials in order to bring this versatile guitar to life and spent months perfecting the deign. By contributing to our campaign you can help us to not only build more Jewcastars but to develop our guitar brand and create more professional quality guitars with new creative symbolic designs.
What We Need & What You Get
We are hoping that you love the Limited Edition Jewcastar so much that you want to be one of the chosen ones that will rock the Jewcastar, but we recognize that not everyone is in a position to own this high-end, hand made, museum quality instrument. For those that can purchase the guitar, you will get one or more semi-customized to your specs at a significantly discounted price and be one of up to 100 people in the world to own this design. There is also an opportunity for a guitar shop to create their own one of a kind custom color to sell to their clients and to market their support of the Jewcastar brand.
For everyone else, you will be able to showcase your love for our campaign by proudly wearing shirts, hats, stickers, keychains, or gifting Jewcastar pics to your guitar loving friends and family! For those that have a greater appreciation of hand made items and are able to help with a larger contribution you will get a hand made miniature of the Jewcastar Guitar built in Spain by and/or our hand made Jewcastar Pic Box made by guitar maker Alexander Halverson. About half of the money that we bring in will go to the high quality parts and materials. The other half will help us to invest in a robotic wood carving machine in order for us to make instruments more quickly and with a more consistant look. We will also use some of the funding to upgrade our maker space which will enable us to make more guitars in a larger space.
The Impact
Alex and I have a passion for building guitars! We truly hope that the Jewcastar will help us to develop a community of people that can get behind our designs and support our dreams of creating guitars with intention. We have more designs that we would love to create and share with the world! Your support of our campaign will help us to develop more Jewcastars and other models which will help us to bring more instruments to market and fulfill our dream of building high-quality, beautiful, hand-made, professional instruments.
Risks & Challenges
At the moment we recognize that there are many professional guitar companies in the market and that most guitars that are sold are in the education/low end market. That said, we believe that by creating a direct to buy approach and building unique, professional quality, semi-customized guitars that are inspired we can succeed in building guitars that give people the opportunity to be part of an inspired brand while playing an instrument that was made specifically for them! You can choose your color, bridge style, 6 string or 7 string and select a 22 or 24 fret.
