What is this Linderdaum Jigsaw Puzzle?
It is a unique 3D jigsaw puzzle game. Simple, right? Have you ever played a jigsaw game on your tablet? Usually it looks completely, utterly 2D and you have to move awkward tiles around. We are going to make the gameplay feel natural, as if you were touching the real tiles and putting the elements of the jigsaw puzzle together. We did that once for a picture puzzle game in Linderdaum Puzzle HD. Now we are going to do it for a jigsaw and in 3D.

What We Need
Long story short, we're looking to raise $5000 to release our 3D jigsaw picture puzzle game on Android this year, and we need your help. This money will cover the costs of hiring a designer, who will contribute the final touches to the look-n-feel of our game.

Why flexible campaign and not fixed funding? The game is almost ready and will be released whether we do or do not hit the funding goal. Raising the funds will help us to improve the visual part of the UI and release the product 2-3 months earlier. This means each person, who has contributed to the project, will receive their perks regardless of the overall campaign success.
How money will be spent?
7% of the funding will be Indiegogo and processing fees. 13% of what is left will cover tax payments. About 10% of the rest will be spent on the perks delivery. This gives us approximately 3600 USD to hire a freelancing designer for 100 hours. The complete UI design for our previous Linderdaum Puzzle took slightly less than 60 hours, so we are pretty confident this amount will be sufficient.
Game Content
This is a lean indie project, so we plan to use the collected funding as wisely as possible.
We will use our own open-source
3D engine, which has proved to perform very good for
puzzle games, to power Linderdaum Jigsaw Puzzle. By the way,
we have the plans to make the crowdfunded game open-source.
The 3D models of jigsaw tiles are generated on the fly using sophisticated math. Here is an overview for those interested. The tile edge consists of an ellipse and two slopes (left and right), represented by a cubic Hermite curve:

Four edges make up a single tile boundary. The bounded region is then triangulated and extruded to form a 3D mesh for the tile.
The game contains offline and online photo galleries. The offline gallery is filled with photos under Creative Commons ShareAlike license. Online galleries stream photos from Flickr, Picasa and similar photo hostings.

What Are the Perks?
Besides the game itself, we have a couple of perks available:
1) A hand signed gloss varnished postcard (10x15 cm) with the logo of our game. We will send it to your address.

2) Additionally to the jigsaw puzzle, you will receive the full version of our previous game Linderdaum Puzzle HD.
Stretch Goals
Our Ingiegogo crowdfunding goal is to cover the costs of the game art. If we make it above our main goal, we will be able to go for other cool milestones:
- 6000 USD iOS version of the game
To build an iOS version, we need an iPad. Once we cover its cost, the iOS version will take approximately one additional month to be polished.
- 8000 USD Desktop version of the game (Windows + MacOS)
The money will be spent on the redesign of the touchscreen-based gameplay for a desktop PC. Desktop version will be available via Steam a couple of month after the iOS version is out.
Everything extra will help us to produce updates for an extended period of time, add new features and, of course, develop other cool games!
What Can You Do to Help Out?
Besides your contribution, you can always:
- Share our project with your friends.
- Use Indiegogo share tools!
- If you are a talented photographer, designer or illustrator, you can contribute to our project!
