UNREST AND FIRE IN THE CAMP
Yesterday 27 May 2016 a fight broke out at the Jules Ferry centre food distribution point. It quickly escalated into a bigger fight inside the jungle and some structures were set on fire. The fires spread and approximately 250 shelters have burned down and 500+ people are now without shelter.

Who We Are
We are a group of people from London who are outraged at the treatment and condition of refugees in Calais. People who have risked their lives fleeing from their homes in war-torn countries like Syria, Afghanistan, Darfur or Somalia should not be left abandoned and under attack at the border to Britain.
Why Are We Doing This?
- The situation for refugees living in 'The Jungle' in Calais is dire. There is a shortage of food, warm clothes, and medicine. There are women, children and people with urgent medical needs living in the camp.
- Several people have died in recent months attempting to make the dangerous crossing into Britain. Many of those who survive are often injured and traumatised with no access to medical care.
- Both French and British governments are failing to provide support to the people in need.
- Asylum is a human right. Britain needs to take its fair share of refugees, especially considering its military interventions in the regions many of these people are fleeing.
- We want to demonstrate solidarity with migrants and oppose the hate campaign against them in sections of the media and amongst many politicians.
- We believe in the free movement of people and aspire to a world with no borders.
Our goals
Thank you for helping us smash our initial target! We initially asked for £500 to fund a 2 car convoy. Please keep donating, your support has enabled us to grow the convoy to 8 cars. We are looking to increase the convoy and organising a series of deliveries of emergency supplies such as food, clothes and medicine to refugees in Calais over coming months. The first of these will be delivered to the camp on 15th August 2015.
We are now providing a generator to a school in the camp. The people who work there are overjoyed, this will enable them to finally have electricity in the class room. Please continue donating so that we can keep doing more!
If you have a car or van and can join future convoys, please contact us.
