We have shot an amazing film and are editing it now. So every extra dollar we earn will be put towards post production to make the film that much more professional, and marketing and film festival submissions, so people will actually see it!
It's The Breakfast Club meets... Dr. Strangelove.
These days it seems like, "He always kept to himself," is the sound-bitten cliche heard after almost every mass shooting. In our comedy we follow
a group of eccentric
LONERS, forced to endure government-mandated group therapy. They are led by a less than competent therapist, and thrust into a conspiracy created by politicians to justify the government's failing
program. In order to avoid becoming another Loner taken away by mysterious government ops, they are forced to do what terrifies them the
most: To stand up for their right to be alone... together.
How did Loners become a movie?
- Started as a play called "Lone-Anon," written by Neil McGowan and named one of
L.A.'s ten best plays of 2013 by LA Weekly. It was written for a festival at the Pacific Residence Theater, and premiered at the award-winning Rogue Machine Theater.
- Producer David Welborn asked Producer Tyson Turrou if he had any material for a film. Tyson was acting in "Lone-Anon" and suggested an adaptation of the play. Tyson brought on USC film school friend, Director Eryc Tramonn and his producing partner, Rob Miller.
- After a year and a half of rewrites, tweaks and table reads with the "Lone-Anon" turned "Loners" cast, we have an
amazing script and are ready to go into production on May 26th, 2015!
Why Loners loves YOU!
We are throwing our heart and souls into this movie! We are calling in every last favor we've earned in Hollywood and utilizing all the artistry we've learned over our collective decades spent in this town. We are creating a film that is going to look like it was made with a $1,000,000 budget for just over $50,000! (Seriously!) We're putting a lot our own money into it ($25,000).... but it's not enough. THIS IS WHERE YOU BEING AMAZING COMES IN!
We are asking you to help us out in completing our budget. To throw in whatever you can- whether it's a tiny bit to stay in the loop and see the process of what's happening with Loners, a few more bucks so that you can essentially buy a ticket in advance and see it before anyone else does. Or- give our film even more of your hard earned cash, and get some of the other super cool perks that we are going to be shooting out to our supporters like T-shirts from a T-shirt cannon! Whatever you give us, whether it's social media shares, a few bucks, or a lot of bucks, you will be responsible for a great movie and helping a group of filmmakers take control of their dreams and show Hollywood what they can do. After we make Loners we will be able to show investors for future movies why we deserve their money, and show casting directors why we should act in their films. We literally could not do this without you!
