How we got here

It all started fourteen years ago when Mercku co-founders created the modern cell phone antenna, the very same antennae that will likely be on the phone you’re using today.

As world experts in telecommunications, we were always looking for ways to better personal communications and connectivity. Mercku was founded in 2017, because we were frustrated with the bad internet connection and slow Wi-Fi speeds that plagued homes across the world, especially with the number of devices under our roofs multiplying. We believe everyone should be able to enjoy the tech in their homes smoothly and without interruption.

Mercku's products are manufactured in a world-class facility in Shenzhen, a facility which also manufactures other Wi-Fi products, with over a decade of experience in the field. We chose this facility because it had experience with high-quality goods, and also has the capacity to produce up to a million units a month - fulfilling our needs. 

We started with M1 which was our first generation router. We sold 5 million units to one of the largest telecom companies in Asia, acting as their sole Wi-Fi provider.

However, we wanted to bring great connectivity to everyone which is why we’re here with M2 Hive. We have been working on M2's core technology for the past two years to bring everyone better Wi-Fi speeds and coverage.

We also have a super-system, for when you want to either have extra range or perhaps gift it for a friend/family. Lastly, we have an add-on node, which will not work unless you already have an M2, but it's for those who want to add a node but doesn't want the package of four.

Why is there no dedicated 5Ghz backhaul between the nodes?

Under our tech design structure, communication between mesh node and main router is rare the bottleneck of the performance of whole system. In this case we do not employ dedicated backhaul, considering the optimization of system robustness and energy efficiency.

Why only 60 devices when most aftermarket router can handle the full 253 clients?

Great question! We can support as many devices as you want, but we can only guarantee high performance for up to 60 devices. Too many devices will sap the network of its speed.
