Mission: To provide quality audio mixing and mastering for multiple types of media, including music, podcasts, and videos.  The goal is to provide these services at more than fair prices as well as offer deals to loyal customers.  The hope of the Machine Work brand is to become a reliable resource for content creators and music artists for years to come.

I have already laid a lot of the groundwork for what I hope will be a successful Record Company in the near future. My foundation is the 15+ years of experience of writing, producing, recording, and mixing my own music as well as the music of a few close peers. Over the years, I have acquired new skills and built upon original ones and decided to expand my knowledge on the music business. I know I have a lot more to learn and a long road ahead of me, but I am hoping with the right financial backing, it will be a much smoother ride.

Before I get into the specifics of what kind of funding I need, to give you more confidence in me, I have already established some of the basics of what a Record Company needs to function.  I have a Logo Design, a Facebook page that I’m currently trying to build up and have already started promoting, an Online Distribution system set up, and a network of sound engineers that helped me put out my first project on the label.

I have spent money on promoting the label and some of it’s music, and I feel that now it is time to take things to the next level. I would like to say that this could be a great opportunity for you to be apart of my dream from these humble beginnings and reap the benefits as I continue to grow the company.

Now to get into the specifics:

I plan to put up my own money for the actual recording equipment to set up a small home studio, but I won’t be able to afford to rent a room for the few months it would take for me to start making some profit from working with different artists and producers.

I live in the Boston, Massachusetts area, so the cost to rent a room would be from low to high around $1200 - $2000. So, to cover the upfront cost for the first 4 to 6 months, my funding goal would need to be between $8000 to $10,000. Based on my financial situation I will be able to put up some of my own funds, but it will not be near enough to reach the goal.

Now here is a breakdown on how this business plans to generate profits in its first phase:

The studio will be available from Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with a possibility of some Saturday hours for a higher rate.  Each day there will be 7 available hourly sessions that clients could book in advance.  My starting rate would be $45 an hour, and that would just be for recording and basic audio engineering. I would offer additional services like; Music Distribution, Music Artwork, Leased Instrumentals, & Advanced Sound Engineering for different prices that will vary.

Doing the Math, if all hourly sessions get booked every day, the base monthly income without any of the other services would be $6,300.

My plan is for my investors to make a percentage off the monthly profits which will be determined later. As the business grows investors will have many chances to benefit off increasing passive income.

With that said, I have a lot of hard work ahead of me and if you invest in this company, all my hard work will be for your benefit as well.
