Mahmoud's
story:
What would
you feel if your telephone rang, and somebody on the other line told you that
you have to evacuate your home immediately because many areas in the town will
be destroyed. When you just go out your home, you see all the people leaving
their homes, running in the streets, carrying their children, and going to the unknown.
It is not a
movie, it is the real situation, and this is what happened in most of the
cities and towns in Gaza during the last war. The Israeli forces sent messages
to the people to evacuate their homes.
Mahmoud is
one of those people, he went to UNRWA school with his family. They stayed there
40 days with more than 90 person in each classroom with no clothes, no space to
play, no safety, no hygiene, and no hope to go back to their homes. Even in the
schools the shelling reached them. At
the first school where Mahmoud`s family went, 16 person were killed, and many of them
got injured. Then they had to leave this schools starting the suffering to find
any shelter out of the town. They went to UNRWA school in Jabalya camp, near
their town, where they lived another massacre.
After the
war ended Mahmoud and his family came back to their home, but they found no
home, they just found mountain of stones. Mahmoud and his brothers lost their clothes,
toys, books, memories, photos, garden, and flowers, they lost everything.
Mahmoud said:
now we do not own anything, we have to start our life over, from the first step.
Mahmoud told us about his dream, he says: when I
got older I will be an engineer because I want to build a strong home for my
family, a home which will not be destroyed by the rockets. He said: I want to
do that because I do not want to lose anything more.

Gaza war lasted
51 day started in the 7th of July, and ended in the 26th
of August 2014.
During the
war more than 2300 were killed, 447 of them were children, and more than 252
of them were women.
11200 were injured, about 2877 of the injures were children.
600,000
citizen were forced to leave their homes and went to UNRWA schools.
13217 homes
destroyed, including 4652 completely destroyed and 66714 partially destroyed,
while there are 50039 houses affected

Shelling,
and air attacks reached everywhere, shelters (UNRWA schools), buildings, mosques,
national associations, and even hospitals.
Our
campaign.
AlRahma association
is implementing a campaign to offer winter clothes for the children who lost their
homes and clothes.
Make Gaza
children's winter warmer is the name of our campaign in which we advertise our message
for the world to donate for our campaign, we try to collect money to buy the
clothes for the children. When we receive any money we will start making deals
with clothes stores, and prepare cards for the children to come and choose
their needs. We will try to offer 50$ for each child.
