Short Summary
Hi! I'm Michelle Seabreeze - I've been
an actress, dancer, spoken word artist, and commercial model in NYC for
over 10 years.
Most of my inspiration to follow my dream has come from being a
teaching artist in schools all over the city.
I try to inspire all of my
students to follow their dreams, so I think it's time I followed my own advice.
My dream is to live and work in Los Angeles, CA. The amount of funds it will take
to get me there I am simply unable to generate on a teaching artist’s salary - so
I've created an Indiegogo Campaign with the hopes that there are more than a
few generous supporters out there. Thanks for caring everyone, and wish me
luck!
What We Need & What You Get
To start this new chapter
in my life I have to
1. Secure a ONE-WAY ticket to SoCal for me and my furry companion
2. A temporary sublet
3. A "HOOPDIE" (a
really used car) to get me from job interview to audition in one piece.
These things can be costly but with
your help I am confident that I will be successful.
I will be offering the following perks for all my beautiful supporters:
- a video thank you
- an Instagram dare photo - keep in mind, however, that I teach kids...
- an original poem written about you, or someone special to you
- a dance lesson for you and your friends
- a private dance lesson for you
- a cleaning and organizing of your home or office
- a one-woman show for you and your closest friends
The Impact
This is more than a dream project - this is my life!
If I am able to reach my goal I will be volunteering at an organization based in Los Angeles for a year - and I am open to suggestions!
I will also be blogging about my journey in the effort to inspire others to follow their dream as well
Risks & Challenges
I need to make some employment happen, and I have given up my apartment. Of course, my dog wants to tag along. I don't have a license, or a car. Savings? What savings? So, yeah, the hurdles are tremendous. My whole life I've tried to do almost everything on my own - but I've accepted that THIS is not possible to do on my own. I'm ready for the challenges, and I'm open to any kind of support.
Other Ways You Can Help
I know that
it is not possible for everyone to offer financial support, but if you are able
to share this with at least 5-10 people in your network who would support my
endeavors, I would be very grateful.
Additionally,
if you have friends, colleagues, or professional contacts in LA I would love
introductions as it is never too early to start meeting people in my new city.
