MATRIX Voice is an open-source VOICE RECOGNITION platform consisting of a 3.14-inches in diameter dev board, with a radial array of 7 MEMS microphones connected to a Xilinx Spartan6 FPGA & 64 Mbit SDRAM with 18 RGBW LED’s & 64 GPIO pins. Providing developers the opportunity to integrate custom voice & hardware-accelerated machine learning technology right onto the silicon. An ESP32 Wi-Fi / BT enabled 32 bit microcontroller version is available. It's for makers, industrial and home IoT engineers.
MATRIX Voice was built with a mission to give every maker, tinkerer, and developer around the world a complete, affordable, and user-friendly tool for simple to complex Internet of Things (IoT) voice app creation.
At glance, the FPGA-driven development board for the Raspberry Pi is a developers dream. To simplify hardware application development, MATRIX Voice includes MATRIX OS, which allows developers to build hardware applications in just a few lines of code using JavaScript.
The 7 MEMs microphone array on MATRIX Voice allows you to leverage voice recognition in your app creations by using the latest online cognitive services including Microsoft Cognitive Service, Amazon Alexa Voice Service, Google Speech API, Wit.ai and Houndify. You can trigger events based on sound detections, such as receiving a text message when your dog is barking back home.
This demo shows that you can build your own Amazon's Alexa using a Raspberry Pi and MATRIX Voice. In it we use the Alexa Voice Services (AVS), it is the service used by Amazon Echo that allows us to accomplish many of the challenging tasks in this project.
This demo shows the PocketSphinx voice recognition service running on a Raspberry Pi and MATRIX Voice with the MATRIX Voice connected to a MATRIX Creator in order to use its ZigBee radio to control a Philips Hue lightbulb. It's a great example of how you can use the MATRIX Voice for voice recognition throughout your house and only need one MATRIX Creator to interface with your smart devices.
The MATRIX Voice “Home Kit” is the ideal perk for "Home IoT enthusiasts." For only $335, you can convert a home into a powerhouse of technology, featuring 1x MATRIX Creator and 2x MATRIX Voice. You can download smart IoT apps instantly via our App Store. Basically, you are integrating the latest in computer vision and voice recognition intelligence right into your home. As an example, place one MATRIX Creator in your living room as the main hub, and place MATRIX Voices in 2 separate rooms.
For a complete smart home, place a MATRIX Voice in every-room!
Unleash your creativity with MATRIX Voice. The preciseness of the microphones and their algorithms allow you to build more, faster. Our community collaborates on projects and brings amazing ideas to life. Join our community here.
It is really easy to manage your apps on the MATRIX Platform. You are able to configure apps via the mobile application and use intuitive and customizable dashboards to pull information from one or more apps. The MATRIX mobile app is currently available on the Apple App Store and in development for the Google Play Store.
At $45, you can experience the power of MATRIX Voice. Kits are exclusively available in Indiegogo!

International packages will be shipped via USPS First Class.
It all began with a Kickstarter campaign for MATRIX - The Internet of Things for Everyone:
During our Kickstarter campaign and immediately after, we were overwhelmed by the waves of developers asking us for a dev board based on MATRIX. Their request was for us to release a hardware building block that was inexpensive, packed with enough components to make it compelling, and easy for them to start developing applications for MATRIX.
This occurred organically based on developer-centric input and we decided to go to the drawing board and see if we could make it happen as a “starter MATRIX”. In a nutshell, we packaged portions of the vast progress made on the MATRIX device and launched "MATRIX Creator." In only 5 months, we have shipped tens of thousands of MATRIX Creators globally and created a super involved community. You can learn more about our successfully funded Indiegogo campaign by visiting here.
But then we were overwhelmed again by the waves of developers asking us for a dev board specifically for Voice applications based on MATRIX Creator. Their request was for us to release a hardware building block that was inexpensive, included everything they needed to make Voice applications, and was easy for them to start developing applications with. The result of this is the MATRIX Voice.
