Hi! We're MovieLand 8 Theatres, a small, locally owned second run movie theater in Buffalo, NY. We have been in business for 14 years, and sadly we are looking to our business coming to a close if some changes cannot be made--FAST. We have been able to obtain funding and receive 3 digital projectors, however we still need 5 more to keep our 8 theater building open, or we will close by the Fall, or much sooner depending on how business goes.

What We Need & What You Get

What we need are 5 digital movie projectors. Movie companies are slowly producing less and less actual film, and by Fall we're looking to receive next to no film at all. It is imperative to our business that we get digital projectors or we will have to shut our doors!

Additionally, our building is in need of a few upgrades and repairs. We have attempted to do what we could over the years, however over the past year all of the extra money we had has gone to obtaining the 3 digital projectors we currently have so that we could remain afloat, and now what very little money we have goes towards paying our bills and our employees. Our building is in need of renovating at least 2 of our bathrooms as well as some re-covering of seats in our theaters. We would also like to be able to make some repairs and renovations to our concession stand counters.

What would you get out of this? First and foremost, we would remain open, and you would still be able to see digital movies a very inexpensive  and extremely affordable price, including our Big Deal Package, which gets you an Admission, Small Drink and Small Popcorn for $7! The upgrades would also provide you with a much more comfortable movie going experience.

In the grander scheme of things, you're getting an investment in your community, keeping a small, locally owned business alive, and keeping people in your community employed.  We aren't a business that just takes money, but we are also active in donating tickets and baskets to local charities and as well opening our doors to organizations to allow their groups, school, and programs in during non-business hours for special private screenings.
