Short summary about us:

The health of the planet was anyway sinking and the world has a lot of pollution to deal with - all of our own making. And then came the virus, brought the world to a standstill and showed how ill-prepared we were. Seeing the situation all around made us realise that we cannot be bystanders anymore. We had to get involved and we were a good mix to make it happen.

Why is the campaign important to us? Why is your participation even more important?

The whole idea began with joining this war against the virus that has troubled us all. We did a lot of hard work, against many odds. But a good intention and an exciting invention idea can bring a product to a certain stage only. Beyond that, to take it to production and to take it to the world, to reach the people who need it, requires Teamwork, Expertise, Perseverance, Dedication and Funds. We now have everything, except funds! Therefore, if you see potential in the product that it can actually help you, and millions across the world, please do support us.

What We Need & What You Get?

We have already created the proof of concept of the product using 3D printing and other prototyping techniques, and therefore have been able to fine tune all the aspects of functionality, breathability, ergonomics, comfort, modularity, and aesthetics. 

We need funding for the product's final material engineering, tooling and dies and the infrastructure for assembly and shipping. To begin with for keeping capital costs low, we aim to get the manufacturing done through other vendors.

The Impact

The Multi-Mask can be used in any setting that requires a mask (and a shield for additional protection), and not just healthcare. In fact, every household can get it, because importantly, it's modular and therefore multi-purpose. The Multi-Mask can end up saving lives in sudden epidemics or pandemics like this current one. As a mask it can be used in cities with high level of air pollutants, and that’s almost every single city today. The aerodynamics of the shield are an added benefit for cyclists.

From the point of view of impact on environment, there are two positives: One, only the filter material is disposable, and that’s small, thereby reducing the bio-waste burden on the environment. Two, with the Multi-Mask, two products become one, resulting in less resources required to create products of similar specifications.

Risks & Challenges

We have partnered with CIBA ( Centre for Incubation & Business Acceleration; affiliated to the National Department of Science and Technology) who helped in securing the Govt permission to work at their Maker Lab during lockdown and we are being incubated with them.

We have also hired the services of Ticket Design, a firm experienced in medical products and that has previously won Red Dot Awards, among others.

The Multi-Mask that you see on this page are prototypes and renders, so expect the final product to be even better built and more amazing looking. 

We are not worried about the new developments in filter materials (reusable, washable, etc) as our design can incorporate any sheet form material easily. It’s modular after all…!
