Overview
Liv Delaney knows that becoming someone’s muse means becoming immortal. Like the many muses before her, she wants to live forever, perfectly preserved as she is now - but to do that she has to die first... Help us make this beautiful and thought provoking film! Help us reach our goal and repay everyone for their hard work and dedication!

The Film.

19-year-old Liv has fallen out of love with life, each day seeming bleaker than the last, and reality creeping in and threatening to destroy what little hope for herself she once had. Though her first instinct is to end her own life before her looming 20th birthday, what she really wants is to live forever. With a death-day set to replace her birthday, her last task is to secure immortality. With a fascination with women depicted in art, their beauty and youth never fading, Liv knows that by finding an artist to make her his muse, she can leave knowing she’ll never truly die. With only 13 days till death before she ages yet another year, can she find the right person before her time is up?

The film showcases a very delicate issue facing our society faces: a rise in teen suicides. This film battles that idea by shedding light on how at the end of the day, the concept of suicide is painful and excruciating for you and the people around you. Showcasing that it is never too late, as time is forever changing and there is indeed light at the end of the tunnel. Through this story not only do we want to raise awareness about this delicate topic, but to also reach young people who feel that the only way out is to end life itself.

We want to reach people who have battled self harm and suicidal thoughts and shed light on the fact that fate is indeed in our own hands, and fate itself is ever changing.

Our Story…

Muse is the brainchild of Ella Robertson; the idea began brewing in her creative mind at the age of 17. She was inspired by the works of Botticelli and Millais; the concept of being someone’s muse enthralled her. That coupled with life experiences and interactions with people led her to fully form this idea. She approached Sarah Saifi to be her Producer, and things began taking form. What started out as an idea, soon started building into a fully fledged reality!

Together these two approached Production designers and went to various location reccees and searched for adverts on Gum Tree; they visited many (some may say shady) locations and met a variety of artistes. The road was tough and unmapped.

However after only a month of Pre-productions these two had locked in all their locations and secured a very talented 1st A.D – Carlotta Beck Peccoz – a strong power house of a woman who was adept at making important decisions and sorting stuff (and people) out when the job demanded for it.

However something was missing, the girls had yet to find a cinematographer to make the story come to life. After much searching they found Thomas Bryan. Tom Bryan is a DOP well beyond his years; he understood the concept even before he read the script! He bought with him an array of ideas and thoughts that brought a new life to the film. Tom was full of energy and excitement; he looks at the world with a fresh perspective that comes through in our marvellous visuals. After Tom came Alessandro – our multitalented and gold hearted Gaffer. Together they worked like squirrels collecting nuts in winter, and managed not just to get everything done in time but to also make it look beautiful.

One often forgets sound when talking about films; but Sarah and Ella were way ahead of you! They found a “sound guy” – Andrea Cremonini who knew the ins and outs of audio and could mix on his mixer like it was nobodies business. Him and hiss faithful sidekick/boom-op Jonny managed to catch all the sound waves on location – even the sounds of people talking in the back room…

But let's not forget about one of the most important things about this particular film – Production Design. Sarah and Ella managed to find the young, but equally talented Athenais Laffont. She worked tirelessly at not only Production Design, but also on costume, and stayed true to the films unique vision and worked to make Ella’s mood boards come to life! Helping her were her secret weaponsYukie and Hazel.

Clementine Beclier came onto production stocked up with glittery eyeshadow and fake blood! After days of test trials and meetings, she perfected each and every look you will get to see in the film!

The Crew was thus complete, a dream team that no one had yet seen. Talented and diverse crew-members from Italy, France, Pakistan and the UK, were ready to take the world of film by storm.

However, we still haven’t spoken about the cast. What can one say about the cast? Well we can start off by using the usual words; versatile, ingenious, talented and creative. However, you will soon learn that the cast is way more than that. And our brilliant casting Director Leoni Tenius was responsible for the honest casting!

For Liv Delaney the last person they saw was Rebecca Turner, and as soon as the girls set eyes on her they knew that she was Liv. Not only did her eyes tell her story, she was able to empathise with Liv Delaney on a whole new level. Rebecca was not just a gifted actress; she was, is and will forever be a gem of a human being, kind and loving. She sat in the bath for 8 hours for the bathroom scene, yet didn’t complain even once.

Then came James Nunn, charming and witty who won our hearts with just two words. “I’m Milo”. Two words in the script that he made his own. He took the words written down on paper and actually became the words, he didn’t just read the lines, he spoke them with all honesty; just as Milo should have.

Henry Leroy-Salta gifted us with his artiste persona and moustache as Tristan and really managed to own the scene – even though were shooting till 2am… Dominic Chambers redefined Sam’s character and gave the story and scene what it needed! Thus completing our Cast!

Last but never the least – the girls through the help of their wonderful DOP found Aiden Jordan. A genius. Aiden began editing with the speed of light, and captured each and every beat! Within a week a rough assembly was complete and the film was on its way to being completed!

After 3 months of hard work and dedication the girls had managed to get everything together!

Yet one thing was missing…

£500.

And this is where you beautiful and generous people come in. There are a few costs that led us to go over budget during the shoot. If we are able to raise this money – we will be able to wrap the production – and pay every one for their hard word and endless dedication! And we need your help to get there!

What we’re going to do with your money…

1. Crew Travel Expenses –

40% of the budget will go towards our crews travel expenses. Our Crew travelled from far away places such as Brighton and Ealing to get to our various locations. Having worked for free and put their paid jobs on halt – it is very important to us to help them in return! Please help us reimburse them!

2. Post-Production-

40% We are very blessed to have our head editor, who is working for practically nothing. However we would have to find funds to pay for our Sound Editor. This will insure that the sound that Andrea and his faithful sidekick recorded does not go to waste! We need some one who has the resources to work magic and give the audio to the already beautiful visuals!

3. Petty Cash used on set-

10 % of this 500 will be going towards to money spent on set by various members of our crew: from getting last minute garbage bags, to forgotten props such as ivy. To running to get some tape and having to get towels laundered (don’t ask).

4. Reimbursement of misplaced hired prop-

10% will be going towards the purchase of a Crosley record player. This record player was lent to us by a generous soul. However with moving locations and kit, we managed to misplace the prop. We would very much like to reimburse her for the prop, or buy it. We were entrusted with the responsibility and we have let her down. Please help us get back in her good graces ☺
