My Brother's Keeper . . .
Jack Cartwright and Samantha Griffin have been in love with each other--and denying it--since they were 17, when the Griffins rescued Jack from his abusive father. They grew worlds apart, Samantha as a supermodel and Jack as an NFL star. Through it all, they kept a tight reign on their true feelings. Until a family tragedy brings them back together--and forces them to face what they can no longer deny.
Hey Everybody! I'm Nina. Not only have I been writing since grade school, and reading romance novels since high school, but one day I realized that I could write them too!
And I did! I wrote my first draft of My Brother's Keeper in 2013. After several revisions, I shared it with a group of Beta Readers, and they LOVED it! I also had the honor of publishing my short romance story The Long Road Home in the Shades of Pink Anthology, benefitting breast cancer research, this past October. I also got some great feedback from that story.
But even with all of this great progress, I couldn't get any of the traditional publishers to bite. I'd heard that with A LOT of hard work, publishing one's own book can be rewarding and help lay the groundwork for a traditional publisher to take notice of a new author.
So I did some major research and decided to engage BookFuel to help me launch my first romance novel, My Brother's Keeper this coming June. I have a great personal consultant who has spent the past few months helping me prepare and get all the pieces into place.
Like many independent projects, there is a significant financial commitment. But it's one I'm undaunted by, and I'm determined to see my book launch "on time and under budget" as they say :).
