Hi all,

I was shooting the lake at the photo above, when I discovered with horror that I placed my tripod on a small rock, and that rock has had enough of all that weight - and it moved. As a result, the tripod lost balance and fell with the camera into the lake.

As you know, cameras do not “like” water, and they do not like getting hit as well. In this case, both happened. The entire mirror mechanism shifted out of place, and water went into the lens and the electronics of the camera, and the whole thing was completely ruined.

To make things worse, it turned out that my insurance wouldn’t cover it because of a stupid mistake of someone neglecting to check mark the “valid out of country” box, thus leaving me without a camera, lens, etc. and without insurance money to buy a new one.

Here is where you may come in. If you can please help me raise the money to get myself a new camera + lens to get back to my beloved hobby and start photographing again, I will be very happy. Anything helps, as those things are expensive!

לפני כמה שבועות בטיול בחו"ל יצאתי לצלם חשיפות ארוכות של אגם ליד המלון שלנו. במהלך הצילום גיליתי בצורה עגומה מאוד שהעמדתי את החצובה על אבן קטנה במים (בחושך כאמור) ולאבן "נמאס" מהמשקל עליה והיא זזה. כתוצאה מכך החצובה עם המצלמה התמוטטו ונפלו למים, ונשארתי רק עם השלט ביד.

כידוע, מצלמות לא "אוהבות" מים ומכות. במקרה המצער הזה קרו שניהם: כל מנגנון המראה והתריס יצא ממקומו, ומים חדרו לעדשה הנהדרת שלי ולאלקטרוניקה של המצלמה, וכל העסק יצא מכלל שימוש, והמעבדה הודיעה לי שאין אפשרות לתקן. כדי להחמיר את גודל האסון, מסתבר שכשביטחתי את המצלמה קרתה טעות מצערת ולא סימנו שביטוח כל הסיכונים של המצלמה כולל חו"ל, אלא רק בארץ. וכך נשארתי ללא מצלמה וללא כסף מהביטוח לכיסוי קנייה של אחת חדשה.
