Only Heaven Knows How Glory Goes, What Each Of Us Was Meant To Be. In The Starlight, That is What We Are. I Can See So Far.
That is a quote from the show Floyd Collins that I had the privledge of playing Floyd in. As an actor, I truly understand this line, in that I don't know where my journey will take me, but I know its the only path I could ever be on.
Hello, my name is Jonathan Elliott Coarsey, and I am an Actor. I have been all my life, and hope to keep performing until the day I die. I have been traveling around for the last four years working at every theater that would give me a job. Luckily for me, a lot of them gave me jobs. Now my travels have found me in the city of Philadelphia. I am working towards becoming an Equity Actor so that I can acheive my lifelong dream of working on Broadway. (Watch the video above to get to know a little more about me)
I have started this campaign because I am having to accept some very time consuming but very low paying jobs in an effort to earn enough credits to get my Equity card. I am currently working as an understudy at the Walnut Street Theatre in their production of An Ideal Husband. While this is an amazing experience that I am learning a great deal from and advancing my position within the company, I make very little money from it.
I am asking for the help and kindness of any one who has ever had a dream that they wished to pursue. I am asking you to help me achieve my dreams so that I may in turn, help others on their path. All donations will go to help me provide for my very basic needs such as food and shelter, as well as allowing me the time to go audition, prepare for roles, and network. To show my appreciation, I will be glad to send any one who donates a signed head shot along with a thank you card. Any donations of $25 or more will receive an I Heart JEC sticker, and donations of $100 or more will receive an I Heart JEC coffee mug. I will also try to get anyone who donates, tickets to what ever project I am working on at the time if you are in the area.
I thank you for taking time to read my story and for your support in my pursuing my dream. If you would like to help in other ways, please feel free to visit my personal website at www.JonathanElliottCoarsey.com and support whatever project I am working on at the time. Thank You
