My Wild Life - Tales & Photos by Terry Osterhout
My name is Terry Osterhout, and I am a photographer, movie maker, writer and artist.
For several years I have wanted to release a book of my writings and photographs documenting my life growing up in Northern Michigan, my life and struggles as a poor artist vagabond, and my adult life in Southern California and New York City and the mayhem that ensued. I wanted to include images from my photographic portfolio and encourage young artists to never give up on their art. It has been my goal to write a book that is as visually compelling as it is hard hitting and informative. I have had a rough, but beautiful life.
I recently moved back to Northern Michigan and have been getting more work as a photographer but after losing my day job, things are a bit grim. I have a family to support and am ambitious and hard working.
My goal is to use this fundraiser to incorporate my business, take the next several months to launch the business and work on my book, and release the book at the end of February 2014.
What I Need & What You Get
$20,000 should help me update my equipment, pay for the business launch up, and give me three months to work on, and finish the book.
Contributors can just pay $10 for a "thank you" credit in the book, or get a copy of the book, and more.
The Impact
For years I have been working on starting my own business in photography and video, and this will finally give me the push I need (and the stability) to make it happen. I have grown as an artist and am becoming in-demand, and have ads in the local paper and billboards.
