Similar to how text-to-speech is used to have your computer “read words aloud,” vocal synthesizers let you write music and have your computer “sing” it. This can be a way to draft songs before hiring a real person to sing them, but vocal synthesizers are more often used to feature on songs, giving the songwriter more creative freedom and flexibility not available in a real voice. Synthesizer V Studio is a vocal synthesizer that excels in realism and expressiveness, especially with its AI capabilities, and offers unmatched opportunities for user control with a focus on ease of use that makes it unique among competitors. SOLARIA is an AI voice library that we at Eclipsed Sounds, LLC are creating for the vocal synthesis program Synthesizer V Studio by Dreamtonics Co., Ltd. SOLARIA will be an English vocal recorded by pop artist Emma Rowley. The SOLARIA vocal product is represented by the character “SOLARIA,” whose mature and powerful design is inspired by the theme of a sun goddess. SOLARIA is meant to represent the limitless possibility of a singer “at your fingertips.”
What can I do with SOLARIA?
With SOLARIA, you can:
Create original, expressive English singing vocals without hiring a singer
Have access to a vocalist for any lyrics and melody you can imagine
Make detailed drafts for a human vocalist so you don't need multiple takes to get it right
Change any aspect of your created vocals, from breathiness to intensity
Currently, there is only one other native English language vocal available for Synthesizer V. With the SOLARIA project, we intend to expand the options available on this engine for the vast community of English language vocal synthesis users and extend the reach of Synthesizer V outside of the existing vocal synthesis landscape. With your contributions, SOLARIA will become a reality and open the door for more English language Synthesizer V singers.

Vocal synthesizer development is expensive. Up until now, everything for the SOLARIA project has been funded out of pocket by our team members. In order to complete this project, we need to attain funding from outside sources. Given the nature of the vocal synthesis community, we felt that the best way to create SOLARIA would be to harness the passion that fans and vocal synthesis users have shown overwhelmingly in the past. With your support, the SOLARIA project can be realized.

INITIAL GOAL: $40,000
If we reach our initial funding goal of $40,000, we will be able to:
Create the SOLARIA AI English library for Synthesizer V Studio in conjunction with Dreamtonics. An AI library will allow for expressive, realistic vocals to be produced that can suit any needs of the user
Pay our vocalist, recording artist and former Broadway performer Emma Rowley, for her time and recordings involved in this project.
Produce beautiful, detailed key artwork for the SOLARIA project with talented illustrator Superstellar
Produce the crowdfund rewards, including paying the guest artists like Edlinklover, MystSaphyr, and staySOCKY who worked with us, paying for manufacturing, packaging, shipping rewards to their final destinations
Commission original demonstration songs from skilled vocal synthesis users such as VocaCircus/Circus-P and GHOST who have already signed on to work on demonstration pieces.
STRETCH GOAL: $55,000
Additional funding will go towards:
- Improving the quality of SOLARIA’s singing capabilities with more AI training data, allowing for alternate pronunciation selections, clearer performance at difficult pitches, and an overall improvement to tone and realism
- Additional key artworks such as a full reference sheet for the SOLARIA character, and artwork for an alternate design for SOLARIA
Incomplete Funding
If we are not fully funded, we will try to come up with the remaining necessary funds on our own to complete the SOLARIA project. This will result in massive delays in reward fulfillment and library completion until these funds are realized, however, we will do our utmost to fulfill them and complete the project. In this scenario, we will update frequently on our status throughout this time and keep you involved via our website and social media accounts. If we are not able to come up with the remaining funds on our own within 6 months of the final day of the crowdfund, pledges will be fully returned to backers.

Eclipsed Sounds, LLC is a small business focused on creating high quality English-language digital vocal instruments. We have been working for over 2 years in collaboration with Dreamtonics to bring the SOLARIA project to fruition, and so far have worked together to create a test version of SOLARIA using the standard Synthesizer V synthesis method. If you have heard of us prior to this project, we formerly produced sanctioned fan merchandise for other vocal synthesis characters, but we moved our full focus toward this project as soon as merchandise sales ended.

khanadee is a producer specializing in vocal synthesis since 2013, khanadee organized “Voxsynth Pride 2020” collaborative album and the “Memories" Dex and Daina 5th anniversary album charity projects. He has also participated in many other collaborative albums within the vocal synthesis community, including two ASDR and Artificial Ensemble albums.

Niamh is a longtime musician and vocal synthesis fan, Niamh has been involved in the community since late 2011. When not working on community related works, Niamh has been drawing and working on concept art for other projects, such as a RWBY webcomic and light novelization since early 2016, and has a background in creating merchandise for local conventions. They have also helped organize several collaborative album projects for different vocal synthesis project anniversaries.

celestrai is a songwriter and vocal synthesis enthusiast who has been an active member of the vocal synthesis community since early 2011. On her own she has managed multiple large scale community events celebrating the anniversaries of older vocal synthesis characters that include both merchandise distribution and compilation album creation, and participated in others. Outside of vocal synthesis she has completed a degree in computer science.

Emma Rowley is a singer, songwriter and pop recording artist. Pursuing her craft has led her to performing in many exciting places including multiple Broadway stages in NYC (LuPone Gypsy in 2007 and 2008, Bye Bye Birdie in 2009) and twice performing as a featured performer at Carnegie Hall, singing original music at Nashville’s famous Bluebird Cafe, and fronting the jazz band at the historic Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, MI.

Edlinklover is a Japanese-American hafu artist, honing their craft since 2011. Their works often feature warm colors in an anime-inspired textured art style. They discovered vocal synths in 2012 and have been passionate about them ever since, making them the prime focus of their work. They have been active in the vocal synth community not only as an artist, but as a writer and hobbyist game developer as well.

Our campaign’s digital key art rewards are full-resolution digital wallpapers that come in multiple sizes for both desktop and mobile backgrounds. The physical key art rewards include a 5 inch tall acrylic stand, and a 1.5 inch mini button badge. SOLARIA’s key art was created by our main visual artist Superstellar.

Guest Artist Rewards

In addition to our key art rewards, we have worked with three talented guest artists to create unique rewards exclusive to our crowdfund. They will not be sold after the crowdfund ends, so this is the only way to get them. These rewards are a 2 inch button badge designed by Edlinklover, a 2.5 inch acrylic charm designed by MystSaphyr, and a 2 inch acrylic charm designed by staySOCKY. The final reveal will be on Friday, May 21 during our Q&A livestream!
SOLARIA Synthesizer V Library Rewards

The central rewards for this campaign are those that include the SOLARIA Synthesizer V Library. The digital version of this reward is a download copy of SOLARIA that will be distributed through email. The physical version of this reward will also include a limited edition DVD boxed copy of SOLARIA. We do not intend to sell physical editions of SOLARIA after the crowdfund, so this will be the only way to secure a physical copy. Both digital and traditional backers will receive their digital copies of SOLARIA, including activation codes, one week earlier than her commercial release. Physical editions of SOLARIA will not include activation codes in-box, so physical backers will also receive their activation codes and installers through email at the same time as digital backers.

In addition to the primary rewards for each tier, backers can opt-in to 3 add-on items depending on their tier: the SOLARIA production diary, custom SOLARIA voice lines, and an autograph on their physical edition of SOLARIA. The production diary is available for all tiers and is a digital reward that provides an in-depth look at every aspect of SOLARIA, from concept to final production. The custom SOLARIA voice lines are short phrases that you as a backer may request that will be provided as pre-recorded .wav audio samples. These lines must be approved by the Eclipsed Sounds team before they may be given to our vocalist to record. Finally, you can add an autograph from SOLARIA’s vocalist on your physical copy of SOLARIA to any tier that includes a DVD copy.
