The children boil and freeze.   Small bodies are racked with seizures.  They spew vomit and diarrhea uncontrollably.   Severe headaches pound, their brain swells and their skin turns yellow.   Their spinal cord hyper extends, arching their frail body backwards.  Agonizing pain rips through chest, abdomen, bones and joints as red blood cells are destroyed.  Their urine turns purple. Their eyes palsy and stare hopelessly in opposite directions.  Tiny arms and legs extend and contract involuntarily, again and again and again.   The narrow room reverberates with the sound of their imminent death; deep, rapid, oxygen-starved breaths as blood and mucous flow from their nose and ears. Finally, mercifully, they slip into a coma and die.   Wrapped in a rag, they are buried in a shallow grave - next to their siblings.

A child under five dies horribly every thirty seconds.  One million children every year.

A conversation: 

"One million children!  Dead!  Every year!  This is not the Middle Ages, it's 2015.  How is this possible?  Children dead in such horrible agony.  One Million?  It's incomprehensible!  Every year? 

Yes, if you can't comprehend it, try this...laid head to toe last year that's a line of children's dead bodies stretching from New York to Chicago.  Or, in the last 50 years, enough children's bodies to go around the world one and a half times"

"It is even more inconceivable because those deaths are easily preventable!" 

"Preventable?  Then send our doctors, our social workers!  Do they need shelter?  We can build it!  Do they need food?  We can provide it!  Are they at risk?  Call out the National Guard to protect them.  My god, one million children!"

"The World Heath Organization must be notified immediately!  They'll find the culprit and save these children!  That's their job!  That's what we give them so much money for!"

"The WHO already knows.  They do?  Yes, they do!  Well that's wonderful!  Not so wonderful.  I bet they'll soon find the culprit.  They already have.  They have...really?  Yes, really?  When did they find out?  Fifty years ago.  Excuse me?  Fifty years ago. My goodness...okay, what is causing the death of one million children every year?  The WHO!   I'm sorry?  The WHO!  Am I in an Abbott and Costello skit...did you say the WHO?  Yes, the WHO.  Are you saying that the World Health Organization is responsible for the death of one million children yearly.  That's right, the World Health Organization has caused the deaths of one million children, or more, every year, and has done so for close to fifty years."

"That's unbelievable!  Yes, it is.  And it's true?  Yes, it is.  My god, one million children!  Why?  How?  By denying them a basic disease preventer.  What, a wonder drug like Penicillin, Insulin, Aspirin?  No, a different type of chemical, but a wonder drug nonetheless.  Denied?  Yes.  Why?  Because you wanted it that way.  No I didn't!  Yes, you did.  I would never kill a child, let alone one million children...I am not an animal...I am not!  Well your neighbor did, our your friends.  My friends would never kill a child!  Well, they did.  I don't believe you!  Ask them.  I don't believe you!  Ask them.  Okay I'll ask them!  Good.  What should I ask them?" 

"Ask them if they want dichloro-diphenyl-trichloroethane banned.  Whoa, what is that?  That's the mIracle chemical, the sibling wonder drug that will prevent one million child deaths every year.  Is it harmful to the environment?  No.  Is it toxic to humans?  No. Then why ban it?  Because it supposedly thins eggshells. Thins eggshells, as in bird's eggs?  That's right.  Is that true?  No, there is conclusive proof that it is not.  Then why ba...forget that...thin eggshells or not, why would they choose a bird over one million children?  Because the children are dark-skinned and don't live near them.  That doen't matter, they are still children...they need our protection no matter their color or country!  It matters to your friends.  Why?  Because self-interest and false science have robbed them of their humanity."

After seven months of hearings, EPA had the 130-page Sweeney Report with over 9,000 pages of testimony.  Every major scientific organization in the world testified - in favor of this miracle chemical.  WHO was given the report.

 The EPA hearing examiner, Judge Edmund Sweeney, concluded that “DDT is not a   carcinogenic hazard to man.  DDT is not a mutagenic or teratogenic hazard to man. The use of  DDT under the regulations involved does not have a deleterious effect on freshwater fish,   estuarine organisms, wild birds or other wildlife.”  [Sweeney, EM. 1972. So why then a ban on DDT?

  "Population control advocates blamed DDT for increasing third world population. In the 1960s,   World Health Organization authorities believed there was no alternative to the overpopulation   problem but to assure that up to 40 percent of the children in poor nations would die of malaria.   As an official of the Agency for International Development stated, "Rather dead than alive and   riotously reproducing."  [Desowitz, RS. 1992. Malaria Capers, W.W. Norton & Company]

  “My own doubts came when DDT was introduced.  In Guyana, within two years, it had almost  eliminated malaria.  So my chief quarrel with DDT, in hindsight, is that it has greatly added to the  population problem.”[King, Alexander, scientist, founder of the Malthusian Club of Rome, 1990 biographical essay.]

  Referring to Malaria: “People are the cause of all the problems. We have too many of them.   We need to get rid of some of them, and this is as good a way as any.” [Wurster, Dr. Charles M.,  envoronmental scientist, chief scientist of the Envirionmental Defense Fund, statement later retracted.]

The demise of DDT and the deaths of millions began with publication of the book Silent Spring by American author Rachel Carson. The premise for the title was that pesticides were killing so many birds that soon there would be no bird songs heard - a silent spring.  In her book, she chronicled the various adverse effects of DDT and other pesticides.  It was a fraud.  Miss Carson (she never married and had no children to fear for) chronicaled the insidious pesticides with misquotations, deceit, falsification and outright lies.  Her book was the impetus for the death of millions of children.

Perhaps her most damaging, most despicable lie; the lie that immediately captured the U.S. public's hearts and minds, as it was designed to do, was that DDT caused birds to produce thin-shelled eggs. These supposedly thin-shelled eggs caused loss of the chicks.  The Bald Eagle, the U.S. symbol of strength and resolve, was about to become extinct unless pesticide use was curtailed. 

 On Page 109 of Silent Spring, Carson states:  "Heavy mortality has occurred among about 90 species of birds, including those most familiar to suburbanites and amateur naturalists. All the various types of birds are affected—ground feeders, treetop feeders, bark feeders, predators."

 Page 111:  "All of the treetop feeders, the birds that glean their insect food from the leaves, have disappeared from heavily sprayed areas."

 Page 118:  "Like the robin, another American bird seems to be on the verge of extinction. This is the national symbol, the eagle."

 Page 120:  "Reproductive capacity of the birds has been so lowered by some environmental agent that there are now almost no annual additions of young to maintain the race... For example, quail into whose diet DDT was introduced throughout the breeding season" (by Dr. James DeWitt of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service) "survived and even produced normal numbers of fertile eggs. But few of the eggs hatched."  This was brazenly untrue.  In fact, DeWitt's quail studies were basically neutral .  But in his pheasant studies, the DDT birds actually hatched more chicks, that lived longer, than the control (non-DDT) birds.

 Many experiments on caged-birds demonstrated that DDT and its metabolites (DDD and  DDE) do not cause egg shell thinning, even at levels many hundreds of times greater than wild birds would ever accumulate. When swamps were sprayed to eradicate mosquitoes, the birds disappeared because there was very little left to eat.  When insects returned, the bird populations exploded.  There were no longer diseases like Avian Malaria to reduce their populations, food was in greater abundance because there were fewer insects to eat it, and the ingested DDT caused the birds to produce increased quantities of hepatic enzymes which destroy cancer-causing aflatoxins in birds and other vertebrates.

  Every bald eagle found dead in the U.S., between 1961-1977 (266 birds) was   analyzed by  U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service biologists who reported no adverse effects caused by DDT or its residues.  [Reichel, WL. 1969.   U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service biologists linked high intake of mercury from contaminated  fish   with eagle reproductive problems.  [Spann, JW, RG Heath, JF Kreitzer, LN Locke. 1972. (Lethal and reproductive effects of mercury on birds) Science   175:328- 331]

Carson talks about known carcinogens and then states on Page 18 that DDT and other:"Modern insecticides are still more deadly.”

  “… weakly estrogenic organochlorine compounds such as PCBs, DDT, and DDE are not a cause   of breast cancer.” [1997.N Engl J Med] http://www.nejm.org/content/1997/0337/0018/1303.asp

  None of 35 workers heavily exposed to DDT (600 times the average U.S. exposure for 9 to 19  years) developed cancer.  [Laws, ER. 1967. Arch Env Health 15:766-775]

 Men who voluntarily ingested 35 mgs of DDT daily for nearly two years were carefully examined  for years and “developed no adverse effects.”  [Hayes, W. 1956. JAMA 162:890-897]

I can personally admit to ingesting large quantities of DDT.  While a child living on air bases I, and other children, loved to play in the diesel fuel and DDT mixture emanating from the military spray truck.  For years, as often as the truck came out to wend its way through the base married quarters, we were there playing and laughing in the white fog - a white fog that killed mosquitoes (DDT is insoluble in water so diesel fuel is used, hence the telltale white fog). Fifty years later, I have never had a serious disease, unless you want to blame DDT for toothaches or broken bones.  I am in excellent health and, unscientifically to be sure, attribute that to the therapeutic benefits of DDT which stimulated my body to increase its production of hepatic enzymes.

DDT has never caused a single human death.  DDT has never been a burden on public health.  In fact. it has lowered public health costs everywhere it has been introduced because it has lowered the incidence of Malaria. Yet it has been banned worldwide except for very limited use. 

Tobacco, on the other hand, is a proven killer of untold millions and the greatest economic burden in the world in terms of health care and lost productivity.  So why don't WHO and EPA ban tobacco?

Because there is no money in tobacco; no one is going to donate money to save smokers who can simply quit. And it too is a form of population control, albeit a very expensive one in terms of economic burden.  DDT, on the other hand, is a much more serious threat to profit and the receipt of charitable dollars.  Use DDT to eradicate Malaria in the developing world and you also eradicate the billions of charitable dollars received for the fight (Bill and Melinda Gates donated 500 million dollars to fight Malaria).  Billions are received but only millions are spent on ITNs (Insecticide Treated Nets) and IRS (Indoor Residual Spraying).  These are questionable remedies that protect a token few from the Anopheles mosquito that carries the deadly Malaria parasite - but do nothing to eradicate that insect vector. 

Ask yourself this: If Malaria was prevalent in the U.S. or the UK, or your developed country, would you accept a bed net as a solution? Would you accept your child's death as a necessary evil because it was good for the environment?  Or would you demand that the government immediately use DDT to eradicate the mosquito threat?

DDT is easy to produce, therefore cheap and undesirable as a profit producing chemical.  Its replacements are less effective, harmful to humans, but ten to twenty times more profitable.  If you were a chemical company, which would you rather produce? If you were an organization existing on Malaria donations, which life-saving chemical would you want banned?

Dr. Margaret Chan is Director General of WHO.  She has a son.  Her son has not died horribly from Malaria.  No Chan sibling has died horribly from Malaria.

Gina McCarthy is Administrator of EPA.  She has three children.  None of her three children has died horribly from Malaria.  No McCarthy sibling has died horribly from Malaria.

At the 1946 Nuremburg war crimes trials, Nazi defendants declared, "I was just doing my job."  Thereafter this was known as the "Nuremburg Defense".  Most were found guilty of crimes against humanity and incarcerated or hanged.

Chan and McCarthy oversee, and are responsible for, the regulation of DDT and the resultant genocide by Malaria.  If asked, they will comment that: "I am just doing my job."  The Nuremburg Defense was rejected in 1946 and is even less worthy in 2015.  Both Chan and McCarthy should be put on trial for crimes against humanity.  Their co-defendants should be every WHO Director General and EPA Administrator who supported the DDT ban.

When found guilty - there is no question that they are informed about the Malaria deaths, and are complicit in mass-murder - transport them to a country where Malaria is endemic.  Let them puke and purge and convulse.  Let their brains swell and their headaches pound.  Let their skin turn yellow and their urine turn purple.  Let them gasp for breath and fall into a coma.  But don't let them die.  Don't let them be buried in rags, in a shallow grave, just like the small children they have murdered.  Let them return to their developed countries.  Let them tell the story of the horrible, agonizing death of these innocent children.  Let us hope that finding their humanity, they can convince the remainder of the world to find theirs.

Test Project

How do we save these children?  By proving that DDT can eradicate the Anopheles mosquito in a specific test area while doing no harm to the surrounding environment or wildlife. 

We propose to use a 50 square mile rectangle - 5 miles by ten miles. Scientists will count and evaluate the flora and fauna inside the rectanglle and for one mile around its circumference.  Doctors will screen area inhabitants and evaluate their health status while explaining precisely what the project is about. Participation is voluntary for all parties. 

World Aircraft Company will donate an airplane equipped for DDT aerial spraying, and a pilot. 

Using GPS equipment, DDT will be sprayed inside the rectangle in a scientifically designed manner based on various factors, including the topography of the land. 

Monitoring of the spray area will continue for one year, with quarterly and final reports published for global review.

The goal of the project is straight forward.  Indicate, by empirical study, whether DDT is safe or unsafe, effective or ineffective, for global eradication of Malaria.

Yes, a longer study period is desirable but one million children will die while this project is underway.  Time is of the essence.

Project Equipment

Max and Eric will donate a very special airplane to the project.  It is a small, light airplane using ULV (Ultra Low Volume) aerial-application equipment to minimize environmental impact.

It was conceived and designed specifically for ULV spraying of sugarcane and oil palms (which is our commercial manufacturing unit) because conventional spray airplanes can not mount or use ULV equipment.  It is perfect for mosquito spraying.

Aerial spraying and fogging eradicated Malaria in the developed world.  WAC will donate a spray plane to the test project.  Thereafter WAC will supply these airplanes at cost to any country which wants them for Malaria eradication. Not one penny will ever be added for profit.
