CAMPAIGN POSTER
FILM SYNOPSIS
Nørse follows the true story of our main protagonist ISLA, as she battles with the trauma of her abusive past. A year after ISLA moves to Denmark with her two sons, finally freeing herself from her abusive ex partner; she finds herself being haunted by the mental scars left behind from the various stages of abuse throughout her life. She decides to write a screenplay telling the story of when she was a child, a teenager, and an adult. Re-visiting these traumatic memories proves difficult for ISLA as she writes out the graphic details of her story. As she progresses with her story she faces her darkest memories. Can she, with the help of her good friend MAX, overcome her fears, or will they overcome her.
THE PLAN
Nørse will cost £20,000 to make. The shoot is scheduled for 10 days to get all scenes shot leaving a pick up / re-shoot day at the end for safety. The crew and most of the cast will be travelling from the UK to Denmark and spending nine nights in local accommodation for the duration of the shoot. There will be a Digital Imaging Technician (DIT) on set to begin the editing process as the film is being shot. The team are working for cost, some for free as they have donated their fee back to the charitable causes. We need your help please, to not only generate enough funds to make the film but to raise awareness and essential funds for the domestic violence charities. The facts are very simple, there is not enough money to go around. Domestic abuse has increased during lockdown and more people, especially children need help now more than ever before. With your help, Nørse can make a profound and positive difference to people’s lives when they are suffering intolerable cruelty.
Every penny over that £20,000 production cost goes to registered charities through a specially formed legal Charitable Trust. If you are affected by domestic abuse and would like free access to this film, please contact us directly, and in confidence at norse.film@outlook.com
We are sincerely grateful to everyone who contributes.
Quote from Rhys, “If my story can help just one person free themselves and turn their life around, then what I have been through will have been worth it.”
RISKS & CHALLENGES
Our main risk is that we don’t exceed our target. This will mean that while some of our aims for the film, such as awareness, hope and information dissemination will be achieved, our key motivating goal to make substantial charitable donations won’t be and that would be a devastating shame.
Therefore, in order to avoid this scenario we have a fully integrated international marketing campaign launching alongside to help generate funds from corporate partners, grants and high-net-worth individuals.
Our schedule may be impacted by Covid. Our aim is to start shooting in February 2021 as we need certain light and climate factors for the film at this time of year in Scandinavia. This gives us a very short time-frame to fundraise. However, we are an extremely driven and tight team, who are all pulling together to enable Nørse to soar.
Please help us to share our campaign far and wide. The more people we can reach, the more people we can help.
Thank you so very much for helping us to make a positive difference to the lives of those impacted by domestic abuse.

SUMMARY
Nørse came about when two independent film makers met while working on set at Warner Bros Studios. Despite being dressed in crazy costumes and on a ‘spaceship’ at the time, they soon realised that they shared a passion for making ethical films, that tell powerful and compelling stories. Will Masheter and Rhys deBraose knew that they must write and make films together. Specifically films inspired by real life humanitarian, social and environmental events. It was their calling but what would their first joint project be..?
One night, out of the blue – in the midst of the Pandemic, Rhys dreamt that she must tell Will her own story. The very next morning she found the courage to do so. Through friendship Will had earned Rhys’ trust. She knew that he would treat her story with the care and respect it deserved. From that small seed began to grow this beautiful, moving and motivational film. Rhys’ own life story is the inspiration for Nørse. Will’s skill as a screenplay writer came swiftly into play. Writing around the clock in a creative frenzy, they set about turning Rhys’ painful past into a film that strives to give hope, raise awareness and vital charitable funds for those affected by domestic abuse.
Nørse is a visually stunning film. Set in Denmark it makes full use of the incredible Scandinavian scenery. The film is based on shadow and light; darkness and hope. Ultimately it is a psychological thriller. Unashamedly the film tackles the subject of one mother’s turbulent journey to battle against and survive four decades of abuse.
Will is one half of award winning Red Blazer Productions with Hugo André. The entire Red Blazer production crew rose to the challenge, working all hours for no profit, just cost to ensure Nørse would raise as much funding for domestic abuse charities as possible, as well as being a stunning, well crafted film.
The aim for this project is fourfold:
I. To generate life saving, vital funding for domestic abuse charities. All profits from this film go to charity. Helping to ensure that the most in need people get the right help at the right time
II. To generate increased awareness of the struggle to not only survive but to also recover from and re-build one’s life after domestic abuse
III. To help inspire and give hope to others in abusive situations. Showing that a better life is obtainable, no matter how dark and tortured your past may be
IV. To provide life-line information for those in abusive situations who need help
