Introduction

My name is Shelbie Wark, I am an aspiring writer/director from Newcastle-upon-Tyne. I've always been interested in the development of characters and stories on screen. My goal is to create films that people feel like they can connect to.

'Occultist' is a film I'm very keen and passionate about making, I've always been interested in the power of females in film and I believe that during the era of the witch hunts in the 1300s that the paranoia and accusations of women would be a thrilling and captivating part of history to document.

I really want to explore the fear and brutal truth of what a single women went through when being accused of witchcraft as I feel this character driven piece can be very powerful in the impact of what really happened during the time of the plague.

Funding

The initial idea about setting up for funding is to help contribute to finding the right locations, the right actors and the right costumes as this is what is going to pull the film off and make it believable to audiences. 

Ideally I'd like to hit the goal of £200 as I am contributing a lot of my own money to the project and I am just looking for financial aid to make the film look even better and authentic.

The impact of the film is to create awareness of a part of history that isn't often talked about or shown in film. Everyone who contributes will be credited as part of the film!
