“Once Upon A Time in Jerusalem” tells the adventures of Jesus and Judas in a world full of Zombies, Demons, post-apocalyptic Punks, Mutants, Cowboys, the Roman Army, Monsters, Mythological Creatures and Steampunk technology in the 80's style that we love.

“Once Upon A Time in Jerusalem” began with the short film, “Fist of Jesus” which received 70 awards at fantasy film festivals. We released it online as soon as we finished, so everybody could see it for free. It received over a million and a half views and we were continuously getting emails asking us to do the film, so we've decided to launch a IndieGoGo campaign because the only way this film will be possible is with your help.

After wiping out an entire village whilst trying to raise Lazarus, Jesus decides to go to the Oracle of Delphos for advice. The witches reveal to him that he must go on a perilous journey. He recruits twelve ruthless mercenaries, and sets off, ready to burn his name into the pages of history.![]()
We want to make our 90 minute Feature Film in the style of the 80's B movies, avoiding computer FX at all costs - we do not want digital effects. We want our monsters to be entirely physical, and when a corpse bursts open it looks real and spatters the actors! This means that most of our budget will go towards the creation of physical FX - makeup, characterization, animatronics... The IngieGoGo Video has been specifically recorded for the campaign, the images do not form part of the film which will be MUCH more spectacular!

Our dream is to make a comedy that is a cross between the New Testament and “Mad Max”, with the humor of “The Life of Brian” and the style of Peter Jackson's early works like “Bad Taste” or “Braindead”. Above all it is an epic movie - Jesus’ journey compared to that of Odysseus or Atreyu in “The Never Ending Story” or any of the “Conan” films, but crazier, in the style of Ash in “Army of Darkness”.

When we started this project we wanted to create a crazy and funny epic film that we would have liked to have seen in the eighties, but we had very limited resources. We decided to shoot a short film first, using all the friends we could rope in and even passing tourists as extras. The result was “Fist of Jesus”.

Once Upon A Time in Jerusalem is much more complicated than the short film. Along with all the actors and extras we also need a team of people who will work for months on the FX, costume design and creation of sets and props. All of the money we raise, except for that used in the creation of the rewards, will go towards the film.

If the project exceeds our expectations, we will invest the extra money to give you a better and more complete product. Stretch Goals will be in place and will include surprises for our backers, as in a Jesus & Judas miniseries, new bloody shorts, alternative endings and even things you want to suggest to us. We're doing this movie for you!

The FX in “Fist of Jesus” were made with recycled materials (bottles, plastic, tape, glue) in a process that resembled more arts and crafts than special effects. For the film we want to use the best FX materials available while maintaining the essence of the film. We believe that this will improve their impact on the comedy and greatly influence the quality of the film.

David Munoz and Adrián Cardona have been making short films since the late 90s. Adrian also has an extensive background in FX, personally creating and killing all the creatures that populate his films. They previously worked together on the short film “Brutal Relax”.

“Once Upon a Time in Jerusalem” is a highly ambitious film that very few people would try to make without a large budget.
The good news is that we managed to make "Fist of Jesus" on a shoestring and without any equipment. It was very difficult but we never gave up because this is our dream.
So email to all your friends who could love and be funders of this project, because with your help nothing will stop us!
